My grandkids (half-Japanese, half-U.S.) LOVE the “Hi Chew” Japanese candies! The brand makes these in many assorted flavors, all unique & tasty!

I love these candies for years, trying these Japanese ones are such a treat to enjoy.

These are amazing Japanese candies made with the same general kind of taffy as Hi-Chew candy. But, it's softer than regular Hi-Chew, and still retains the wonderfully chewy texture. You get these flavors: Sour Lemon Grape Soda Shine Muscat Mellow Green Apple Arita Mandarin The flavors of the taffy are remarkably true to life, in my house we particularly enjoyed the sour lemon and grape soda but each was really good. The best part about these candies is that most of them have some crunchy candy bits in the middle. I'd liken the middle bits to Sweet Tarts: a bit of tartness and sweetness at the same time. It melds so well with the taffy, we thought it was a really unique thing and enjoyed it SO much. The orange ones have more like jellied orange bits inside versus the Sweet Tart like filling. That was good too, but we liked the crunchy ones best. The packages are all in Japanese and, I have to say, the candy wrappers are so much more colorful and charming looking versus those we have here in the States. This collection of five different types of candies really immerses you in the experience of trying sweets from another place, and we had such a fun time trying all the different kinds of candy! This can be a family experience, one that's lots of fun for every age. In my home we have everyone from a toddler to an 80+ matriarch, and we all loved it! To me, it's well worth the cost because you're buying not only candy but an experience.
