Love the Yogurt it makes
I’ve made several batches of plain yogurt using ultra pasteurized half and half with many different probiotics over the past couple of months. This one makes a smooth and mild yogurt after being cultured for 8 hours. I’d guess it is packed with probiotics by the way it solidifies and its texture. Very little smell and very little sourness. I’ll let it go substantially longer to check the results, but 8-9 hours has worked great. The longer it goes the more probiotic –to a certain point anyway.

Excellent Starter for Authentic Indian-Style Yogurt (Dahi)!
I had a hard time finding Indian yogurt cultures and decided to give this brand a try (along with a few others). After testing 5-6 freeze-dried brands, I finally landed on this one, and I'm so glad I did! Indian-style yogurt (Dahi) is not easy to find in the U.S. Yes, you can get it at Indian grocery stores, but the consistency is just not the same as homemade. With this culture, I can create one batch, and while I don't consume that batch, the second batch made from the first is absolutely perfect! How I Make It: 1st Batch: Use 2 cups of milk, heat in the microwave for 2:30 minutes, and let it cool for 20 minutes. Leave it to set for 8-12 hours in the oven with the oven light on. Afterward, place it in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours. 2nd Batch: Use 6 cups of milk, heat for 3:30 minutes, and let it cool for 20 minutes. Use half the yogurt from the first batch, and mix it vigorously into the milk. Let it set in the oven (with the light on) for 16-20 hours. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours. This process produces yogurt with a great consistency and a nice tart flavor. While the taste of the first batch may not be exactly to your liking, it serves as an excellent culture for subsequent batches. If you're looking for authentic homemade Dahi, I highly recommend this brand!

Best yogurt starter
This is my go-to yogurt starter. I use either this one or the non-probiotic one of the same brand, but I like this one better. It gives consistently good yogurt, and I make at least 2 batches a week. I use this, 3 tablespoons of milk power, and a bit more than a liter of 2% grass-fed milk at room temperature or slightly above (3 minutes in the microwave when it was in the fridge before use). 9 to 10 hours in the yogurt maker, and boom, perfect yogurt. One star remove for the price.

Easy-to-use and tasty yogurt starter.
Yogourmet has been around forever. It's a dry powder that comes in little packs each of which will easily culture one batch of yogurt. It keeps perfectly well and won't go bad on you. I personally have a slight preference for using fresh yogurt for my culture but of course fresh yogurt WILL go bad on you if you don't use it soon enough and anyway I don't always even have any fresh yogurt to start with. Yogourmet to the rescue. I always have some packs around. Rip one open, dump it in and you are ready to go. It is always reliable, never fails, and tastes good. If you like yogurt you should definitely keep a box of this around. Live cultures.

Excellent - well deserving of 5 stars
After trying to use yogurt as a starter source and having rather poor results, I gave this product a try and the results were excellent. No need for anything fancy; I just poured a quart of milk into a container, added the starter (without any heating) and then decanted into jars. I will buy again. Note to sellers, I do not accept bribes to up-rate products. If you offer, you will be reported.

Makes good yogurt but can't recommend this
I bought this thinking that it would be cheaper than my usual brand, but I should have crunched the numbers and taken hassle into the equation. Two envelopes of this cultures 8 1/2 cups of milk whereas my usual brand does 10 1/2 cups for two envelopes. This culture needs the milk to be brought down to 77F after "boiling" whereas most require about 112F. It takes a very long time to bring down milk an extra 30°. It also takes 10 hours to culture instead of 5. It's just not worth the hassle.

So easy
I used this to make yogurt at home. So easy, just add to the lukewarm milk after it cools down from being heated, stir well, and that’s it! Pour into your containers, place into your yogurt maker and you’ve just made delicious, healthy yogurt with probiotics.
