Works great once you get the hang of it
Great product, only drawback is the price. If you want to make only a few minor changes to your car you still need to make a full year subscription purchase. Should be optional 1,3 and maybe a 6month subscription available for more temporary use.

Simple, beneficial, and cost effective coding, and fault finding.
Having originally purchased an OBD II to Lan cable and obtained a copy of ESYS,I was not happy coding on a programme I was not familiar with, and you can do some serious damage to your ECU, rendering your car drive less,Carly for BMW has been a breath of fresh air, it’s so easy to use and you are safeguarded knowing that a back is obtainained and stored prior to any coding you undertake, i paid for the full version, and coded my BMW 4 series only to have a sidelight failure, but there’s no need to worry with Carly, as the pre-coding condition of the ECU is stored on a file, you simply hit restore and load the settings back into the ECU, after turning engine off and on again, the faults had gone, also I was having an intermittent stalling issue, when I scanned for faults on my 4 Series I had no less than 17 faults, some suggestions of power issues, I reset the faults via Carly which was so simple and re-scanned again for faults, this time the car reported no faults on my car, and it has been fine since.I also find the app and OBD II connector works flawlessly over Wi-Fi, and the Carly app is very quick and responsive. Yep

Useful
Works on two of my cars, downside is subscriptions, and claims to be able to do more than it does, but still effective and useful.

There are additional subscription costs
Does what it is supposed to. Easy to use. Drops a star for value for money because you also have to pay an annual subscription

Not Impressed & Be Careful
Well I made a mistake when I purchased this. This is a big con by "Carly" to force you to buy multiple adaptors and multiple versions of the app's.The Adaptors are the same other than 1 has a wi-fi module and the other has Bluetooth. My Android phone will connect to the "iPhone" version and I would imagine that an iPhone would connect to the Android version but I am not sure since I don't own any Apple products. The App on my Android phone will not connect to the Adaptor because Carly have designed it to only connect via Bluetooth instead of allowing it to connect via Bluetooth or wi-fi.That is simply to force people to buy multiple adaptors and multiple app's, I can understand about the app's as some people will only need it for 1 manufacturer, but come on seriously how pathetic is it to force an adaptor to only work on one platform, when it clearly does not need to be locked to just one platform.Luckily my brother has an iPhone and the app so I will be able to use his phone and app, but if he didn't then I would have to return this or go and get a 2nd hand iPhone or iPad because the manufacturers are so greedy, in milking people by forced incompatibility that does not need to be an issue. Not impressed at all, look elsewhere for your adaptors and software especially if you use multiple devices.

Brilliant product, Support service is just poor...
Product is very good albeit one of the more expensive on the market when you factor cost of the software, I'v been using this for years and recently updated to the gen 2 model to take advantage of new functionality. This allows me to modify functionality within the on board computer of my car, such as folding mirrors off the remote key, DVD in motion, brightness of my lights inside and out etc. All from my iPhone (or other depending on purchased model). There are so many features to modify that would cost lots of money from the dealer or other that it just makes sense to do it yourself if you even remotely competent. That said, if you do encounter any problems don't expect prompt support from Carly. Ive logged two tickets up to now and 3 days in no response. You can't call anyone, just log a ticket via the app or online, then wait for someone to get in touch. Funny really, because you get an immediate response if you ask questions relating to a purchase.... Support is the most important aspect to me so depending on how this shapes up I may move to another product that has good reviews on the support side. In summary, a brilliant product that may be let down by vendor support, shame or id give 5 stars

Makes life much easier
You have to purchase the yearly subscription for full benefits and there’s only so much you can code depending on spec of car, if basic don’t bother.I changed a few things on my BMW if you are like me to much effort to push down on the indicator stalk instead of the tap and 3 blinks I now get 5 smily face thumbs up :)

Easy to use however terrible customer service and after support
First purchased my Carly adapter back in November 2018, at first it was a great piece of kit to use, very simple to do basic commands and functions, I wanted this to clear and read errors codes on my e92 and it did do that job great, WiFi can sometimes be a bit dodgy but most of the time it worked fine. The first negative was the yearly subscription cost to use all the features with the app.....I didn't know until I purchased my Carly adapter that you would have to pay every year to use the full version and it's not cheap either, but I bit the bullet and purchased the full version. Now the real disappointment, after approximately 9 months in using Carly one day my login wouldn't work and Carly basically told me I wasn't a registered member! Used the same email address and password without any problems and then that happened. So I emailed Carly support, didn't hear a thing after 3 days another email sent.....still nothing, so another email sent, I finally heard back from support telling me I must of used a different email/login and my profiles "weren't sync'd" so basically no help what so ever, tried again but eventually gave up. So not only was my login useless I lost 3 months worth of my PAID subscription, no refund, no sorry etc from Carly. I'm now using INPA/NCS and wish I had never bothered with Carly, it takes some getting used to but it's worth it and much better....and the best part is no subscription fee's. Carly is a good product however the subscription side of things and lack of customer support seriously need to be looked at.
