If you grew up in the VHS rental era this is an amazing book.

I am an avid collector of 1980s/1990's video sleeves and have more than 600 in my personal collection. A lot of mine are major blockbusters from those eras but I also have some that are in this book as well.Which brings me to the reason for knocking off a star - whilst the material covered is mostly rare and obscure titles ( which I welcomed) the sleeves themselves are not printed actual size and you do end up losing some detail in the reproductions as a result of this. Bearing in mind the size of the book and amount of black vacant space around each sleeve this should not have been too difficult to achieve.Despite that small point I would definitely recommend this as an essential purchase for those seeking to go down memory lane and revisiting the old smoky video shops of yester-year. We need more books like this to preserve a bygone era so take note publishers as nostalgia is definitely in!

Look up the word ‘rad’ in the dictionary and you’ll probably find a photo of this book... if your dictionary is as rad as this book is.Since purchasing this book I personally feel like life has been more rad, and rad people have been attracted to the radness emanating from the well documented vhs covers on these pages.You should probably buy this if you want to feel and be more rad.

This book is great for examining 80s/90s VHS covers, just don't expect to find your favorite mainstream films. That actually doesn't bother me, as I love schlocky B-movies such as what fills the pages of this book. If I had any complaint, it would be the condition it arrived in, but since Amazon was the seller, I can't leave seller feedback, and I'm not willing to wait to have it delivered again on the off chance the single copy they have left isn't also damaged on one corner like the book I received. As someone who likes to keep their books in pristine shape, that's incredibly annoying. However, overall, it's a very entertaining, nostalgic book for any cinephile.However, be forewarned that there is a LOT of nudity, suggestive poses, various types of assault against women, and such throughout the book (if such a thing concerns you), so it's not exactly a coffee table book for people who are sensitive to such things.
