Solid adult sized spreader
If someone broke into my garage and stole it, I would buy this again. And I fully recommend this spreader to others. If you are over 6 foot, you know how pushing a standard spreader works for you. You're bent over and it feels like you are using a child's toy. Not with this. It's big. It feels and looks adult sized. It really is that big. Just pay the price and get it. Some things you do need to know. First, if you try to put 130 pounds of fertilizer in it, it will handle it just fine. But think about if YOU can push it. if you have even a slight hill in your yard, chances are you can't. Or it will be a big struggle. Just put half that in and don't worry about it. I filled mine with 100 pounds and tried to spread it on a 95F day. Up hills. I will not do that again. It's just to darn heavy to push. If a spreader could laugh, it laughed at the 100 pounds, so the limitation was all me. Assembling it is difficult. You'll need a helper to hold the parts as you put in the bolts and tighten everything. Follow the instructions and you'll do it. Those extra hands will help. Don't be fooled and think the 100 pound version is just as good. Don't do it. It's not built as sturdy. Get this one and you'll probably never buy another spreader. There are reports in the comments here about the "gate" that drops the fertilizer not working. I'm guessing a part was installed upside down. If you follow the directions, it will work. If it doesn't work contact the company. There has to be a fix because they do work, and they work really well.

Impossible assembly!!!
Assembly is IMPOSSIBLE! Tons of pieces and horrible instructions. I have built all of my furniture in the past without a hitch. BUT, this one is quite the challenge. I chose to send it back after step 4!!! It's quite difficult to make heads or tails of it. Good luck if u chose this product.

Seems well built.
Received our Agri-Fab spreader at my place of work earlier this week. It arrived on time and package was in good condition. My coworker volunteered to out it together. I chuckled about this after previously reading all the assembly complaints on Amazon customer reviews before I purchased it! About and hour and a half later he came into my office and cussed me out for setting him up to assemble it! Not easy to do he said as the instructions on a few of the steps are vague and confusing. After about 3 hours he had it all together! We both agreed that it seems well built. It is big and tall and easy to push around in the warehouse. Its bucket is big and the discharge hole at the bottom seems to have a good pitch and seems to be centered properly so all the salt should flow down and out onto the spreader fins properly. Much larger than the little Scott’s residential spreader we’ve been using to put down ice melt in the past! Haven’t used it yet for one of our nasty Oklahoma ice storms but we feel it will definitely help us get the job done a whole lot quicker!

B +. Does not last long —> Corrodes Easily.
I have owned about 7 of these spreaders over 25 +/- years. They rust and corrode easily. Spreading performance is excellent until it is not. They need to make the Frame out of 304 Stainless Steel. I have motorized equipment that has lasted 30 years or more and this is a push spreader that lasts 3-4 years…? Why…??? This is a Fair Value for the money if it is On Sale. You MUST fill the hollow tubes with spray foam if you want this to last. Washing it is a pita, then blow it dry with a big fan or leaf-blower. That is NOT a productive use of time. Wheels and tires are made in ChiCom, they are of marginal quality.

Look at other options. Overpriced and cheap quality. Don't recommend
Very time consuming to assemble. Many missing nuts, bolts and cotter pin. Had to make a trip to Home Depot to purchase bolts and a cotter pin to complete assembly. Total waste of my time. The plastic strainer that sits inside to strain the product is cheap and immediately bent under the product weight. The moisture cover that sits on top is a joke. The fit is so unnecessarily extremely tight we could hardly get it on but as soon as we filled the plastic hopper with product, the hopper spread and it was absolutely impossible to get the cover on. We threw it away and now use a large garbage bag to keep product dry. The flimsy piece of plastic that is supposed to prevent product from spreading all over your shoes and pants does not help at all.

Assembly takes time, but heavy duty unit.
If you’re going to assemble it, figure 2 hours. Mine was missing spacers for the wheels, but I had a plastic tube I chopped up. Plus had to add some of own steel washers. I’m going to paint it with auto body rust proofing because this thing is going to rust because it powder coated. But it’s a heavy duty spreader.

Good sreader
This is what I call a spreader! Those other "green" ones aren't worth the junk they are made of. Holds a ton well built and spreads really well. I also got the screen to sieve out the sticks and stones because I had a pebble get stick in the shoot and burned my lawn in places with fert.

This was a true disappointment
I love Agri Fab. I love the company, many of their products and their commitment to making their items in the USA. But, c’mon, you have to set a good example. The hopper was cheap plastic and the hardware inside knocked around so much that the plastic hopper was “bruised” in about 15-20 places. The Agri-Fab sticker, a point of pride for the company (and me! I want to support you), was crooked, and had so many air bubbles. The instructions were terrible and there were so many things that could have been done at the factory instead of giving you a bag with 23,457 pieces. 4 sized washers, 2 kinds, lack of a good ID about which one to use where. Missing a critical cotter pin; why not use hitch pins in case you need to fix/repair? The hopper cover is a complete and utter joke. It’s about as thin as old onion skin tracing paper, about as durable as a soggy single ply paper towel and as effective as having nothing. Where the plastic window is “sewn” to the surround is perforated with holes which will NOT keep any snow or water out. This was a depressing purchase. Clearly the company is trying to cut corners to keep their products manufactured in the USA, I say increase your price and increase the quality. I want to “buy once; cry once”.

When i got it i figured the gears felt a bit tricky but its now Gummed up and corroded within the first few months of ownership. Not well constructed in my opinion. After my experience I can not recommend this product.

I have bought and broken several other good expensive brands and so far this one has been working excellent! Very sturdy unit.
