What a wonderful story!
I've read all three books in this series, and loved them all, but Beyond Secret Lake is really spectacular, keeping you guessing and wondering and, of course, turning pages!Kudos to Karen Inglis for such a great series! Well worth the read no matter your age.

My 9 year old loves all 3 books in this series- but THIS is her favorite!
My daughter (in 4th grade) who looooves to read loves this series. She read the first book 2 times and loves the whole series. She just told me the 3rd book is her new favorite...I'm pretty sure she's going to read it again and again. She explains it as: "Exciting and adventurous. The third book is an interesting mystery."

Must read book for all ages
I loved it when Tom and Stella found a 100 year old letter from their friend jack saing he needed help Tom, Stella, and Hanna travel back to the 1900s by going though the time tunnel. There they help Lucy, Emma, and Sophie at the Penworth Estate find out and solve the mysterious illness that Lucy’s fried Sabastian has. While they are there strange things happen. The story keeps you wanting to keep reading to find out what happens next. I love at the end of the story Tom and Stella are back home in their time which is 2014 are on a tour of the Penworth Estate with their mother. You will need to read the book to find out all the things they find out about their friends that they had visited back 100 years ago. My name is Kristy age 68

Fantastic third book in this time-travel series!
This is a super fun series. I love time travel stories and the author does a wonderful job of putting it on a level that isn't too complicated for kids to follow but is also very cool. There are a lot of funny moments in the story and I love how the kids come from two different time periods and work together, all the while learning more about each other. The setting is well researched and fascinating, and I felt like I was there with the children every step of the way. It has plenty of twists and surprises and does a wonderful job of casting the light of suspicion on different characters—it kept me guessing the whole time! And the ending was perfect, even though I was sad to say goodbye to the characters.

Absolutely recommend
Beyond the Secret Lake is absolutely phenomenal! The construction of the story is magnificent. I enjoyed the familiar characters as well as the new ones.Beyond the Secret Lake is my favorite of the Secret Lake series, written by Karen Inglis. The story is written in such a wonderful way that it played out in my mind like a movie as I read it.I'm anxiously awaiting for the finished book to be released, for the cover as well as the tweeks to the finished story.I would recommend Beyond the Secret Lake for children, young and old, eight years old to 108.Simply wonderful.

Great story!
The book was such a wonderful adventure. My son, has autism and loves to read. His favorite things were the friendships and the way they made scary things fun! His favorite character is Jack and he loved his descriptions of the estates and the people who lived in them. We read the book together in two sittings because he was eager to find out "who did it". He loves the series and this book made him laugh and kept him curious at the same time.

Superfluous and long-winded
For those familiar with Disney+, this Book 3 feels like a failed Star Wars spinoff.Unlike the original Book 1, which focused on time travel, this turned out to be a murder mystery. And instead of the first book's 100 pages, this one is unnecessarily long with 300+ pages.

The best kid friendly book series ever!!
Ive been suckered into this series from the first book. It's so beautifully written and everything about it is just exciting and worthy of reading. Every time I finish, I just want to read more. I'm absolutely so invested in the time tunnel.

The best one in the series - totally gripping!
I've read all three and I think this is the best one yet. It was certainly the biggest page-turner. It was lovely to return to this group of characters and follow them on another time travelling adventure. This time we get to know more about Jack which was a particular treat - I've always loved him as a character. The children leave London for a stately home in the countryside which makes for a brilliant setting and a perfect backdrop for the whodunnit. It's full of historic detail but that never gets in the way of a good story - which this is - with bells on! Highly recommended.

Loved it! A real page-turner with children from different times working together to help the young heir Sebastian.
