Tartufi Whole Black Truffles in Brine, Preserved Black Summer Truffles (Tuber aestivum Vitt.) from Italy [1.76oz Jar]

I'll be honest, I'm not well versed in the flavor and authentication of truffles and this is my first experience using truffles at home. I've had many restaurant dishes that were superb so I wanted to re-create them. Expensive, sure....is it a good value, well..... I'm not sure but the jar will not go to waste. I'm quite happy with my purchase, I like the flavor, I cook for my small family and they seem to like it too. The packaging was great and had many layers of bubble wrap. No leaking. They are in a brine so I cannot comment truly on freshness but they are thin sliced and hold up well in a dish.

This is a decent truffle salt, with a wonderful aroma and detectible truffle flavor. Unfortunately the price has risen drastically and I don't know when I'll be able to afford it again.

I don't understand how this product got over 4 star review. This one has no smell and no flavor at all. It is same as just simple salt. I purchased many different truffle salt , but I never had anything like this. I wanted to return it for refund, but it is non-refundable.

We are huge truffle fans, and we hunt them when we can, so we've had them as fresh as they get. I ran across these when I was searching truffle items on here and had to give them a try. They are okay. They're definitely lacking the full punch of a fresh truffle, and the texture is weird, probably due to the brine preservation. Would I buy them again, yes, in a pinch, to add some authenticity to a truffle dish, but they wouldn't be the main show.

Tastes really good with high quality. A good alternative without breaking the bank. Portion is also good. A teaspoon is enough for a meal so this bottle will last a while. Highly recommend!

I didn't even want to give it one star......but I had to the jar I got was absolutely a lie. It didn't taste of truffle at all...in fact it only tasted like cheap salt Save your money and buy a different product
