Denby USA Blends Fire Coffee Mug, Multicolor

When I first got married in 1965 (I was a baby! seriously), I chose Denby for my pottery, and I loved it and it lasted forever. I still have some pieces, and the missing ones were removed by mysterious forces (my kids? hobbits?) and NOT by breakage. They didn't chip, despite careless handling, and they were really attractive.So when the time came to get more everyday dishes, I sought out Denby on Amazon, and there it was! The only hard thing was choosing. The Duets Sage & Paprika definitely caught my attention for two primary reasons: the price, and the colors. I have several other serving pieces with these colors, so it was perfect. The design is especially appealing to me because the cups have handles that are large enough to get all your fingers in, which is important to me because I have arthritis in my hands. The other nice feature is that the plates have slightly raised edges, which helps contain any sort of liquidy food.When you handle these dishes, they feel very substantial (although not terribly heavy) and definitely of high quality. There is also a more expensive line of Denby that matches them, so that you can purchase additional serving dishes or whatever to go with them.I couldn't recommend these more highly! I only got four place servings to be sure I would like them, but I'm definitely going back for another four settings. They're also on sale right now. You won't be disappointed with Denby, whatever you choose.

From the first time I set eyes on Denby, I knew I wanted them 💓 yet, I will say I tried cheaper alternatives trying to save; however, over time I probably spent just as much as these would have cost, so my last cheaper set kept chipping and I found these on sale and went for it and I am sooo happy I did. Everything about them I love, the dact that they have not chipped yet, the colors look fantastic together, I can comfortably fit my fingers on the coffee mug and they have a fantastic smooth feeling about them that makes them such a treat to drink out of. They arrived in perfect condition.

Very nice dishes. I like the colors, even though they are sort of retro, but not quite the same orange/green of the 70's. I ordered one place setting first then ordered 3 more. One of the three had an imperfection I couldn't live with, a black spot. There in lies the reason for 4 stars. it took some time before I got the replacement due to inclement weather. But all turned out well. I've had them now for several months and they are sturdy dishes and live up to the name Denby.

I ordered eight sets of this dinnerware. I was disappointed when I saw the color. The color was much lighter than what is shown in the photo. I was expecting the orange to be a deep, rust shade. Instead it's more of a salmon color. Like others have reported, the color varies from piece to piece along with varying color on the same piece with some areas being lighter to the point that the edges of the orange portion of the plates almost looks white. As pricey as this dinnerware is I expected MUCH better quality control. If these were half the price of what I paid I'd probably keep them but for what these cost I'll will go through the hassle of packing them up and returning. I just can't justify $44 per place setting unless they're perfect. One coffee mug arrived broken.

We love this set of dishes. Because we just moved and had so many expenses, just bought a set of 4 thus far. We will be getting another set of 4 soon as they are beautiful and very sturdy. Came in good shape and dishwasher safe. Love them. Beautiful in our new SouthWestern Home.

I am somewhat disappointed with my purchase. At $52.plus per place setting, I was expecting consistency in colour and quality. Though, the dishes have a quality look to them, there are some very obvious shade variance. I question whether they are authentic Denby dinnerware that was truly made in England. If they are and were, then I suspect that they are lesser quality merchandise that were made to be sold online. There are a number of reasons for my concerns. One, some of the dishes had the "Denby 1809" sticker but most of them did not. Two, the dishes that did not have the 1809 sticker, had a different imprint on the bottom of them. This is where we are told that the dishes are dishwasher, oven, freezer and microwave safe. Meaning, the font and darkness of the ink was different. Furthermore, the difference in the font and darkness of the ink was most pronounced in all 10 cereal bowls (none of which had the "Denby 1809" sticker). The words "Denby" and "made in England" are faded on all of the bowls. Continuing with the imprint on the back of the dishes, my final observation was that under the word "microwave", some of the dishes have the letters "AC" while others have "AD." I do not know if this latter issue is a defect. I live in Toronto, ordered online and had them shipped to Florida because I was in the State for a special occasion. I was tempted to return them but I have waited for years to make this purchase. Also, it would have been too much of a hassle to return them during my short visit and even more so now that I am back in Canada. I purchased 10 sets which were for some reason split into two different deliveries of 6 and 4. I initially wanted to purchase 16 sets, but because of my concerns, I will stick with my 10 orders. But for my concerns, I would have given 5 stars.

This stoneware is very durable and lovely to look at. It has a very hand made look and feel and if you love earthen colors, this is it. I love that it is safe and low in metals that too many other products are contaminated with.

One set has a price like six made in China. Only time will tell whether it is worth-it. I hope that Yes. I like this product.UPDATE:I liked the dishes of this label, although its price has always been high.But recently, my guest accidentally dropped the plate from the table to the floor and immediately broke off a piece of it. I'm somewhat disappointed - from the dishes with such a story and with such a price you expect more. Fantastic mug. Denby makes some of the finest stoneware. They are a real please to enjoy a hot drink from.

We've had the original 8 place settings a year. No problems. No chips.
