Just Ok
I just started reading her books again. Is she writing them? The few I have read in the past months were just okay. Story line could have been written in one chapter. The books back in the day were so much better.Delivery of package was terrible! It was pouring rain out the day of delivery and the driver left it under the mail box that is attached to the house outside the porch? Needless to say the package was soaked and had to dry it out.

what does it all mean?
Life begins in kindergarten, when you make friends your age. Their lives are a pert of you forever. We all must find reasons for living that are not independent of others. Include friends on your decisions because their opinions are important if you life is to have meaning. Make sound choices for your future that include friends. Without friends your life won’t become all you want it to be.

Good Quick Read
Danielle Steel is one of my favorite authors. I have been a fan of hers and read many of her novels over the last 20 years. Suffice it to say, I am hooked. Many of my favorite books are written by her.I recently finished her book, Friends Forever. Unfortunately, much of this current book did not engage me.The story was about five friends who met in kindergarten and become immediate friends through their childhood, teen and college years. They dubbed themselves the Big 5, and became inseparable. The cast of characters included them, their parents, stepparents, and siblings. What I did not enjoy about this book was the pacing. The book moved too fast, rapidly changing from scene to scene. It was quickly flipping back and forth through the characters through time as they advanced from kindergarten to college.Much of the first half of the book was about the parents of the Big 5. This, in my opinion, made it very hard to get any true character development with many of the characters until the last 1/3 of the book. By this time, the story had quickly trimmed the cast down by moving rapidly through drug overdoses, suicide, and an accidental death, and funerals. The overall message was about the risky life’s choices of this particular generation. The events in the story did affect the lives of the characters. Unfortunately, due to its fast pace, the reader did not have time to feel it. This book could’ve been so much more. And has a great story line…Who didn’t have the “Best Friends” in school.I enjoyed the last third of the book when we finally were left with one main character and her struggles. The book slowed down enough to look inside a couple of the character’s motives, feelings, and decisions that they faced. As typically Danielle Steel novels go, it was an easy read. It had an ending that left you feeling good. Unfortunately, it did not capture my heart as some of her previous novels did.

I giggled, laughed and cried whole reading this book.
Danielle Steel has a writing ability that makes the reader care about the characters. The characters in this story were so strong. I loved them all. The starts by following 5 kindergarten students into early adulthood. It was hard to put the book down.

The best things come in small packages and this is one of them.
I just finished reading this and have to say, yes it's shorter than most DS books but, I still found it very enjoyable. I loved the fact that she involved the siblings and parents of the 5 main characters, it gave the characters more depth and allowed you more insight into the 5 main characters lives. It also helped you understand why the 5 main characters did certain thing and why their lives took the path they did later on in their collective lives.I couldn't help thinking of my own 5 bestfriends and how I only speak to 2 of them still to this day. Not because of falling out with them but, because I moved around a lot during my childhood and they kind of fell away and we lost touch. I did try getting back into contact again with the 3 I lost touch with but, we all found that we'd changed to much and never really clicked like we did as kids. It's sad and I still miss them but, sometime you just can't get that chemistry you once shared as kids back. The other 2 don't live near me or each other but, we still talk over the net together and by texts so it's nice knowing we're still there for each other.I loved this book, so don't be put off by the length or by the other reviewers. Give it a try and you never know, it might prompt you to get in contact with old friends from your childhood. Happy reading.(I'm happy to discuss this book with anyone, so feel free to leave a comment.)
