Crystal-Clear Optics Perfect for the Alaskan Wilderness!
I took the Steiner Tactical Series binoculars with me on a recent trip to Alaska, and they performed flawlessly. The clarity is nothing short of stunning — every mountain ridge, glacier edge, and distant animal was sharp and detailed, even across the vast, open landscapes. They’re lightweight enough to carry all day without fatigue, yet feel rugged and durable in hand. The focusing is smooth and precise, making it easy to lock onto a subject quickly, and the optics handle changing light conditions beautifully. In a place as big and breathtaking as Alaska, having these binoculars made a huge difference in spotting wildlife and appreciating the scenery. Whether for travel, tactical use, or just enjoying nature, these are a dependable, high-quality choice.

Great Value For The Money- Another Great Quality Steiner Product
I have utilized Steiner binoculars in the U.S. military and I have to say these tactical 8 x 24 binoculars knock the ball out of the park. They are super small yet good magnification, I use them for fishing and spotting bait, etc... and they work well even in low light conditions. They focus quickly even with glasses and objects appear super sharp and clear. For the money they are a great value and would work well for other applications such as concerts, birdwatching etc.... Highly recommend!

Very good binoculars with some details that I don't love
This review is for the 10 x 28 Tactical Series Binoculars (T1028). I did quite a bit of research on this item before buying and it is a bit of a mixed bag. I bought them mostly for travel purposes so the "pocket" sizing and folding features were primary buying factors. The binoculars themselves are very good--when you get them properly set up for your own visual circumstances, the sharpness and clarity of the image is excellent. There is an odd phenomenon that is a bit disappointing: the left eyepiece has a separate adjustment ring to compensate for differences between your two eyes' visual acuity, when I move the main focusing ring there is a slight lag that differs between the left and right side, as if there is a bit of backlash in the left eyepiece that is different from the right eyepiece, so that requires a bit more movement of the main focus ring to get the two eyepieces to align again. That is the biggest reason for me dropping one star. The other detail that I don't love is the case, and this has been a disappointment for me for both of my Steiner binoculars (I also have a pair of their Bluhorizons 10x42). For this pocket style pair, they very generously provide a rugged, padded soft case that provides plenty of protection, has its own separate strap, a nice fold over clip-down lid. The case itself is fine quality, but the downside is that it is way too large to be appropriate for a "pocket" sized pair of binoculars. When they are folded up to their smallest size, they flop around inside the case because the case is not at all fitted to these binocs for pocket use, it would not fit into a generous jacket pocket at all. So I do applaud that they include a good quality case, but I definitely downgrade my rating because it's like they provide the wrong kind of case for this kind of binocular--I'm a bit conflicted about that so that is why I give both the plus and minus of the case separately from the binoculars. In the end, I hunted around and found a third party case that holds these snugly when folded and will fit into a pocket for travel and lightweight use (search Amazon for this ASIN B0882Q7312 and you can buy a solid little case for around $16 that fits these Steiner pocket binoculars with their strap quite nicely... Steiner, this is a suggestion for you as well, I would be much happier if you provided this kind of case for your pocket binocs... hint hint...). I really like that they are "waterproof" as their website says "submersion to 1 meter" so I don't have to worry if they get splashed or rained on. The nitrogen sealed interior for anti-fog is also nice, although not particularly important to me. I really like the shaped eyecups for helping seal out ambient light. The click-lock strap is also very nice, a comfortable strap that can be easily attached and removed and is a nice lightweight size for this smaller style. The ergonomics are very comfortable to use, recognizing that they are "pocket" style so they are pretty small in the hands, but that is by design. The build quality overall is excellent, something I have come to trust from Steiner and a strong reason why I have chosen two of their products. I also love that the focus is quite fast and has a super close short focus, only 6 feet so some of the birds on our fountain just outside the window can be seen in great closeup detail. Also the included front and back protective eyepiece caps are a nice detail as well. So overall these are very good mid-range pocket/travel binoculars as far as the performance of the binocs themselves. Maybe the rest of these details don't matter to other people and if so then I happily recommend these. Would I buy them again? Hmmmm... not so sure, I would definitely shop around, even for some of the other Steiner's in the same style, but I'm mostly happy with them, you know... 4 out of 5 stars in the end. Hope that helps!

Outstanding ... Steiner makes the best optics
Clear optics as expected from Steiner. Compact size and lightweight. 10-power, but work just fine when hand held. Easy to focus. Nice carry case and straps. Highly recommended!

Excellent
My initial purchase was somewhat disappointing. When my binoculars arrived, I immediately noticed two dark black specs near the SUMR reticle the first time looking through them. I contacted Steiner customer service and within minutes, had an RMA and preprinted shipping label. The binoculars went back to Steiner for inspection. Two weeks later, a brand new pair of T1042R binoculars was on my doorstep. The replacement pair was flawless. Image quality is excellent, very bright and sharp. The SUMR reticle is sharp and crisp, and ranging objects with it is very easy. Build quality is excellent. Overall, if you are in to the shooting sports at all, these binoculars are an excellent choice for shooting competitions, or just having fun.

Very clear
Excellent binoculars. These pictures are taken though a not so clean sliding glass window. I put the 10x42 Steiner Tactical on a tripod and hel my cellphone up to it and took the first pic. Then I thought I'd zoom in a little and see what I'd get. Went well so max zoomed. Pretty amazing. I'm sure the 8x42 would be a little more stable, but these are keepers.

Well made and strong
These feel like they are built like a tank. Great construction. Optics are good, I'd say they are definitely priced about right. They do have a clear image. They are small and pocket sized. My issue was FOV was small, but expected considering how small they are.
