Handles like a bit more of a pomade vs American Crew forming cream, which very much has a slight gel feel to it.Smells amazing, like a subtle men's fragrance. I prefer it much more than American Crew forming cream.I have medium length hair and what I really like is how natural this product is. Not very shiney at all. The hold can be as light as you want or heavier, depending on how much you use. I wouldn't say it can hold as hard as Muk or similar paste products, but if you are looking for a forming cream that smells great, washes clean, and has a very natural look and medium hold, this is a really hard product to beat.For reference, I have used:American crew forming creamMuk paste (orange)Burly fellow styling puttyEvery old spice product (paste, cream, pomade)This product works the best for me out of all of these.

I’ve tried many gels over the years. Some are too watery and require me to use too much product. Others are far too sticky and visible in my hair. Others don’t smell great. I was beginning to feel hopeless, but this stuff has totally given me faith again. Has a wonderful woody smell, and has amazing but transluscent look in my hair. Also just feels good and is not super sticky. 100/10 stars

Lite hold.

I need something pretty strong to tame my very straight hair, and this works well, doesn't weigh my hair down or look messy, and it smells good. I can comb or brush it all day and it still holds well.

This stuff is not too greasy or too heavy and helps to define & hold hair in place. Takes a tiny bit to work so it will last a long time. This is one of my go to every day products that I use.

The product itself is fine. It does what it purports to do, namely, makes my hair a little bit more likely to stay in place. I would just caution anyone who is sensitive to scents, as it seems I am, as the scent in this product is extremely powerful, to the point of being overwhelming. It is that traditional “man” Sandalwood kind of smell. It reminds me of the scent used in old speed stick Deodorants. It’s not unpleasant, exactly, but it’s too strong, at least for me.

I've been looking for a more affordable forming paste since a lot of other companies have significantly raised their prices. I have tried so many products and have been so disappointed... Until now. So I started out with the Trendstarter sampler pack of 4 different styling products. This one, the forming paste, ended up being my favorite. All 4 work great and i used every bit of all 4. The thickening fiber is a very very close second, but I think this forming paste edged it out in the end. Although now that I'm thinking about it more I do remember the thickening fiber was really amazing too, so I think I'm going to go ahead and order a container of it too.
