OEM on the left and this aftermarket filter on the right. Found out it didn’t fit after reassembly and leaking unit since the filter doesn’t seat right the size is off and don’t go through the hassle! Just buy the OEM and save yourself of finding out the hard way like I did.

Used as filter for tankless water heater

doesn't come with the O-Ring replacements - looks like it has less filtering capacity form its minimal exterior folds - no - I don't work for the OEM - my hot water, tankless heater is $4K and replacement would be $4K plus maybe $1,500 for labor and I have to take a day off or two - do you think I'm insane ??????

I was tempted into buy this filter thinking it was an OEM replacement. When I opened my filter canister and removed the old OEM filter, I saw the old OEM filter has a center core of water treatment granules, like the description of the "The Heater Treater" name brand filter on Amazon. As much as I paid for the water heater, I want the chemical protection option. This cheaper filter is completely hollow and empty on the inside. Also, this cheap unit does not include the large replacement O-ring, so if you damage the existing O-ring disassembling the filter cannister, you are without hot water until getting another O-ring. I am sending this cheap knock-off unit back for a refund, and buying the real thing to fully protect my tankless water heater.
