A great book!
I recently purchased Balady on Amazon, and I was so delighted with it with its beautiful photos and delicious recipes that I also purchased one for a friend who loves Middle Eastern food. Beautiful book and perfect recipes
My sister and I went to Joudie’s superclub in London and fell in love with her and her recipes. We bought the first book right away! When the second book came out I purchased three copies. One for myself and two for my family. Her recipes are delicious AND accurate to how it’s supposed to be done. With middle eastern food being popular right now it’s hard to find real recipes. Here they are! Her books showcase a delicious truth. Palestine is a beautiful country with a lot of history; especially with food. Joudie displays everything perfectly about Palestine and the Middle East in both books. I definitely recommend purchasing both editions of her books. If you’re ever in London go check out her superclub too. Much love, chef, and I look forward to the next book and superclub.

A Must Have!
I have both Joudie's cookbooks, Palestine on a Plate, and now, Baladi. Palestine on a Plate is hands down, my favorite Palestinian cookbook. The first thing you will notice is how beautiful this cookbook is--the pictures, the details, and the recipes! I have spent 15 years in the Middle East with Palestinian refugees. Joudie's recipes are legit Palestinian and delicious! They remind me of many hours spend in Palestinian homes over Palestinian meals. Such wonderful memories! Her books are such beautiful way to honor Palestinian culture, heritage, and food. Baladi is a treasure and must have for anyone who loves food and culture!

very authentic and beautiful images
I have both of Joudie's cookbooks, Palestine on a Plate and now Baladi. The recipes are authentic and a wonderful way to document our heritage. It reminds me of the beautiful meals made by my family when visiting overseas. The images are gorgeous and evoke a sense of beauty and wonder. I have purchased this book for friends as gifts, as well as copies for my daughters to have for their own cultural keepsakes. Thank you, Joudie for taking the time to document the love and beauty of Palestinian people, culture, and food!

Beautifully produced book with great recipes
I have several middle eastern cookbooks but this one stands out because many of the recipes are a little different from those you usually see. The photos are beautiful. I have only just received the book so I have not made anything yet but I have enough cookbooks that I can read a recipe and have a good idea if the recipe will work. This book looks as if it has lots of winners

A Stunning Representation of Palestinian Cooking and Palestine
Each page in this cookbook is a vibrant and beautiful work of art. From the photography to the authentic recipes representing so many cities and people within Palestine, I continue to pick up the book and use its recipes. Not only is the book beautiful, the recipes are delicious and wholesome. The author, Joudie Kalla is true to her identity and is a wonderful author...you can feel her passion for Palestine as you read through Baladi's pages. Super happy that I picked up this book and I also highly recommend her first book Palestine on Plate!

The book is great. New recipes to ancient dishes. A wonderful Travel through the tastes of Palestine accompanied by wonderful stories to each dish. I know the Palestinian cuisine preety well and though I have learned so many new things wirh this book. I am astonished and so happy.
