Pump is Okay - clogs very easily
Pump seems to move adequate water for circulation however it needs to be cleaned from even light silt every two to 3 days making it a nigh maintenance option - my old pump I had for 5 years in same pond cleaning it in spring and fall only. I would not purchase again.Also , the fittings do not work well together and it is difficult to configure. It came with no book and all fittings in a plastic bag - when asked the seller about as it appeared to be an opened or used product they insisted that was not possible and did nothing about it (bought here on amazon but not sold by amazon).

Pump
Pump works well. Filter is very easy to clean, this is my third pump for my pond and its the easiest so far to clean. The filter is very small though, so if you have fish in your pond you will have to clean it often even with a uv filter. This pump is a very good deal.

Would have liked some instructions in how to connect the various options for the fountain heads, etc.

Takes a licking and keeps on ticking
I purchased this June 6, 2012 and I had to come write a review. I have to admit I leave it in my pond year round, even when it freezes over and this thing still works like a beast!

they survived just fine and the water kept flowing
Pump is a work horse for me for my small 300 gallon tank. Consistently worked through the harsh winter last year and is working till today. Cleaning before the frost for me was every 5 days on the filter that comes with it. Once the cold sets in and tank is clean from the leaves, this little work horse gets me through the winter. With 3 koi in the outdoor pond tank, they survived just fine and the water kept flowing. I was happy with the pump itself. Fittings did not use, just strap a hose to it and to my filter and all was good.

Workhorse, but shaft broke after 7 years
I've had this pond pump in continuous usr for 7 years. Had to replace the filter a couple of times. I just took it out to do my regular maintenance cleaning (also for my exterior filter unit), and no pumping Motor was fine, bit the impeller shaft was broken. Not sure what happened. Anyway, I figured it was time for a new one, so I just ordered a new pump. Same unit, as I know how to fit it all together.
