The media could not be loaded. Project: 10 year old Husqvarna blower. With 25 years of spray can painting under my belt, I can say I have absolutely mastered spray can painting. In doing so I periodically find something that needs freshening up and what better way to do this than a fresh coat of paint. I started with a usual basic tune up and I think while working and thought I wonder if my buddy Amazon has a paint to match this Husqvarna 125b blower? Sure enough, they did! They didn’t have it a couple years ago when I looked and it wasn’t worth hunting down at the time. I really love Rust-Oleum. Once important reason - it hardens extremely well with out side effects. It’s off summer here in FL so it’s the perfect time for paint projects. It’s also perfect because the flash over time is much better. I know I’m using that term improperly and paint gurus are cringing reading this but I’ll explain. : I know flash is dry time between coats. What I term as flash over is several extremely quick but light coats which blend and gloss over highly but is enough to mirror and sit but not run. In summer it’s hard to achieve this except on small projects but impossible on large with a spray can. Even on small projects the coats dry too quick In summer and you get more of a satin look if it doesn’t run from too much paint. You want the mirror perfect effect on a project like I’m demonstrating here because no one is going to want to go back and wet sand and buff and polish orange peel or imperfection on a piece of lawn equipment, it’s just not practical. So after starting, I did not want to spend much time on project, so knowing the blower well from maintenance I knew it would be easy as long as the paint performed. Boy did the paint perform!!! There are 3 major parts of the blower that are solid orange and 2 small parts that require to be orange. Like all paint projects, it’s all about prep. I took it apart washed all parts to be painted with Spray 9 cleaner (love that stuff) and masked off areas not wanting paint. Time : 38 minutes. Set everything aside to dry till next day. There are 2 large pieces and 1 large piece that I left on the motor and main housing and figured I’d start here. Starting in I went to flash over and was extremely impressed- mirror glossed and no sign of run or imperfection!! I knew if the subsurface is totally smooth the gloss would retain. It retained and was absolutely flawless. Now I had the last piece which had basically the motor and all the running parts of the blower and I didn’t want to take all of that apart to free that piece due to time so I masked around the parts not needing paint, see pic. I painted till flash over then set it aside to dry. The last we’re the trigger and lock set switch, painted them till flash over and set them aside.Ok now the impressive part. In the pastRust-Oleum has found extremely well to harden in an oven. This paint also amazingly works well oven hardened. ONLY DO THIS IF YOU KNOW WHT YOUR DOING. In bOven hardening I placed the two large pieces and the two small pieces in the oven. I have an oven that can go very low. I oven cured the parts at 110f for 3 hours then 150f for 6 hours. The Rust-Oleum held up flawless again and the mirror finish held up perfectly no bubbling or gassing. There were enough inert solids in the paint that it did not shrink. I was beyond impressed. I tested a hidden spot with my fingernail and it resisted scratching perfectly.(do this only after totally room temperature) Now the final part couldn’t go in an oven Because it had the motor and assembly attached but I had one more trick: I put the assembly in my van for a day and let greenhouse heat if the sun cure the paint. Worked perfectly again. Not as hardened as the other 2 parts but this piece wasn’t as critical to have scratch resistance. time savings was more important here.Total time invested was 2 hours 35 minutes included reassembly. Time frame was in line for this small project. If the paint didn’t perform, this project would have deemed a fail. At the time Amazon had the paint listed at $4.15 with 2 day shipping. I would have paid 15 for how it performed. All I can say is I am beyond impressed where paints have come and for what I paid, I refreshed my blower in very little time. I expected a decent result but the result blew me away and I do many projects like this one. Friends I’ve shown swore I bought a new blower! Love Rust-Oleum!!! Now to fresh in my Husqvarna hedge trimmers!!

Good even coverage.
I've used this product before. It holds up well in the Las Vegas heat. And it sprays nice and neat.

Very tough, great color match, takes a long time to dry.
Great paint. Matches perfect. It does take longer to dry than regular Rustolium, but the finished paint is obviously harder than any other spray I have used, even the epoxy based Appliance Paints. To be sure, it will take a full week to fully cure in cold temps, and even 3 or 4 days in warm temps. Working in the unheated shop at 40F I find heating up the piece to be painted with a heat or hair dryer and also warming up the can results in a good finish. Apply a hair dryer to finish curing the paint enough to handle. Then move to a heated area to fully cure.It really is much better than regular Rustolium.

Only for Ford or pre-2000 New Holland tractors
I was searching for New Holland blue spray paint to touch up some areas where the paint had chipped on my New Holland Workmaster 50. After doing some research I thought I understood that Ford blue and New Holland blue were the same color, but unfortunately that is not necessarily the case. The two are only the same color if your New Holland was manufactured prior to the year 2000. So while I can't complain about the paint quality, I wanted to make sure readers understood this.
