You can check for UL certification at UL.com on-line certification directory if you know manufacturer name or file number. The seller may be able to get you this information for proof of certification. Q: Can is be used outside? Direct 14/4 direct-burial speaker wire

The wire that I purchased was 14/2 and was not rated for direct-burial or in-wall use. You should look for wire specified for that application. This would not be suitable for that, though I would be comfortable hanging/stringing it along under eaves or a patio roof, so long as it was reasonably sheltered.
