Absolutely awesome collection of films
I got interested in old black and white movies of the kind collected here when memories of seeing them used as filler on holidays or during unscheduled transmission breaks were prompted by the online reviewer Angry Video Game Nerd's monster movie marathon in the run up to Halloween. This is possibly one of the most definitive collections that I've found, I bought a lot of single movies which are included here before I decided to take a risk on an athologists collection. If you are looking for the original black and white Nosferatu, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the original silent production of The Phantom of The Opera (all of which are sold expensively enough seperately), along with other greats like Carnival of Souls, Screaming Skull, White Zombi, Metropolis and Little Shop of Horrors (many of which have gone on to inspire remakes, some of which are great, some of which are awful) then look no further. There are some awful movies here, like Atomic Age Vampire, which may or may not be filler but they are not all black and white classics, some are, some are pretty aged and scratchy but not poorly produced or reproduced. The discs are double sided, two movies to each side, supplied in paper cover slips, each numbered, with side A and B, there are short paragraphs describing each movie and notes of the year, stars, length of feature, whether it is color or B&W and rating. The box itself is a really sturdy plastic container, on the back are listed each movie and who it features, the box itself has a great set of sturdy plastic clips to hold the disks and a kind of rack to hold the ones you have already viewed. If you are a fan of classic and old time cinema, classic horror stories or a student studying film history and production I would highly recommend this anthology, its a good value and big collection. General viewers could appreciate it too but I think it is more one for the film buffs.

Simply superb instant library
One of the best box sets I have ever bought. I used to own the vast majority of these on VHS, but sold my collection some years back, so was amazed to see this at such an affordable price. Okay, one can moan about some of the prints, but for the money, I was not expecting collector's edition quality on any of these films. To my surprise, all have played perfectly well. To get these titles individually is a) a bit of a headache and b) incredibly expensive. To get them all in one box is really a bonus. There are some classics on here, as you will see if you research the contents. If you are lucky enough, as I was, to obtain this fairly cheaply, then it will not disappoint. Comes highly recommended.

Horror Classics 50 movie pack
First of all, I must confess to not having watched the majority of the films in the boxset - so this will be a relatively short review. Personally I believe the boxset is incredibly good value for money - contrary to others who believe it is silly to pay for sub-par copies of 'classic' horror movies, the main reason I bought this set was to see if i actually liked the films first of all; rather than shelling out £15 for a lavish set for a film I may find boring or mediocre. My main niggle isn't necessary with the set as a whole (although I may find the same problem with some of the other films in it), it is with the copy of 'Nosferatu' presented here. The picture is very grainy - which is to be expected with the film's age and the fact this is a budget public domain boset, and in a strange way it does add to the aura surrounding the film - but it should be mentioned. This aside, the main problem is that the screen is cut slightly. On certain slides the beginnings and endings of words are cut off. This is slightly frustrating, and I felt I should mention it if someone was buying this set especially for the inclusion of 'Nosferatu'. I regret not going for the more expensive restored edition now though, as it is a very entertaining film and worth the money.

50 Horror Classics!
This is a must-buy for all horror and classic horror fans. With over 50 classics, B-movies, and funny special effect movies, this set will keep you entertained for months to come.Although some of this boxset are quite bad movies really, there are also a few really good movies.A must buy, and just to say that although this is supposedly region 1 it has worked on quite a few of my UK region 2 players. ???

Perfect
It's so difficult to find old horror films around nowadays, and nowhere can you get as great value as with this boxset. The DVDs might be grainy and not remastered, but it just adds to the effect. It's got some real classics on here, a must have for any horror fan.

Scary movies we saw on TV in B/W or at the drive in!
You saw them as children and teenagers and they were somewhat scary or horrifying. Now watch them and enjoy them in a funny not so scary way.
