Learn drums on my own - great drum pad for my purpose
I have played band instruments (sax + clarinet) and guitar for >10 years. I finally wanted to start learning drum kit and asked a drummer friend for advice to learn some basic drum patterns. He recommended a drum pad to learn rudiments and practice some patterns at home. I've found this pad to fit my needs exactly. The bounce on the pad is good and mimics a drum kit fairly well. Pros: Good bounce Small (portable and easy to stow away) Quiet Cons: Small (sometimes I miss the pad since i'm still a rookie) -> i'd probably recommend an 8" pad

Love it
I like this pad. I got this pad in preparation for an audition and it worked very well. I love the fact of taking it wherever I go, Although this is a good pad, I want to share that I would look at the 12" double sided paded because this pad isnt very big, a little bigger than my hand. But Hands down a wonderful pad. I love the double sided part being able to sound like a pad and a actual drum. Vic Firth nailed it on this.

Great practice pad
I've always used the Remo practice pads in the past, but this one is absolutely brilliant. I prefer to play on the black side because it is much more quiet than the gray, and you still get that real feeling. The gray side is great, reminds me of my marching snare days, but it's a little on the loud side. Great product, highly recommend

It's just like the pictures
It all looks the same, and it has both sides. Works perfectly fine and great for taking it with you. It can fit in a tiny bag

Awesome buy!
My husband loves playing drums and he beats on everything, so I got him one of these for our anniversary and he’s in love. I’ve bought others in the past, but this one is the best built one I’ve ever seen. The price can’t be beat either.

It’s good. Just really small.
It’s a 6” pad, which is great for someone who’s on the go, but lacks the beef of a proper practice pad. I like how it’s double sided, and the black side feels more like a marching snare tension.

Great Practice Pad!!!
I can see why so many people recommend this pad, especially the double-sided version. The lighter side is quieter yes, and provides more bounce than the darker side, but the darker side is great for practicing those power hits and hearing everything you hit clearly and pronounced. I personally use both sides of this equally, as they both provide a level of practice in their own separate ways. The wood base is also thick and sturdy, yet the whole thing is lightweight. Perfect
