Now, with that being said, if you don't like a perfect fit and prefer a little bit of breathing room, I would suggest the 61 or 62 cm ushankas that are sold on here. Nevertheless, THIS USHANKA DOES STILL FIT!COMFORT & WARMTH:As mentioned it fits snug, the faux fur takes some getting used to. But once broken in, it's super comfortable. And as far as warmth goes, it's 10/10. I have been living in Florida for the last few years, ever acclimating to the "endless summer" down here. But you see, my younger brother plays college football for a university near the US-Canada border. I went to see one of his games a few days ago at the end of November. It was around 22F (about -3C) outside. I wore this ushanka and my head, ears, cheeks, and neck were super comfy and warm the whole time. The ESPN TV cameras even shot our section a few times in between plays (in my opinion) because I was wearing this lolAUTHENTICITY & QUALITY:So if you bought this because you have a weird unexplainable affinity for historical clothing, flags, antiques, etc. Authenticity is always VERY IMPORTANT! So, as far as I can tell, the hat I received was produced in the Rot-Front Fur Factory in Leningrad, USSR. The quality, materials, colors, and everything suggests it is authentic Soviet military surplus. Now for a quick gripe.... The name of the product on Amazon claims it is a WW2 era Soviet ushanka. This is false. What is actually sold is the ushanka style used by the Soviet armed forces AFTER WW2, not during.All-in-all very happy with the purchase!

This is the real deal! Perfect condition. Brand new old stock. Smelled like it was stored for ages...because it was. Aired it out in my house and now its fantastic. I only wear it when its really cold because it will cook you. This thing really is for very cold weather. Authentic in every way, right down to the lettering inside. Says what year and city it was made. Love it. We have 3 now!

I went for size 60 so I would have a little extra room. The size 60 fits but there is no extra room. Having said that this ushanka is original, clean and looks unissued.

The hat is REALLY warm. This hat is the real deal. Compared to the other generic ushanka hats that I have bought, this one really stood out. The Russians really do know what they're talking about.

Excellent choice for extreme cold. very warm and protective. The Russians know what they're doing when it comes to protection from the cold. It's a little prickly and snug due to it being wool and new, but will soften and stretch over time. Very happy with the choice and purchase.

Ok so I received an ushanka as a Christmas gift; one of the cheaper generic ones but super comfortable and soft. I like milsup things so I found this and if you shave your head like me it's not uncomfortable but it's not as soft as the cheaper ones, BUT, it's authentic 100% all the way and feels heavier. If you have hair then you won't notice the fabric difference that much between a basic one and one of these. The stitching and material used in this is top notch super nice! It fit my head perfectly. Not too tight not too loose but I measured my head to make sure and order the correct size. I absolutely recommend if you want a real deal Russian ushanka. This thing is legit.

It's a real thing, made in USSR.

My son waited for this after buying it with his own money. He loves it. Keeps his head warm and he just really loves it. However, he is not wearing it anymore until we can get the decorative piece back on. He wore it for almost a week and it just came off. For $50 I am disappointed. More so because my son is so upset. Once I get it back on I'm sure everything will be fine again, but really? Not worth the price.

How can I tie it with just one rope???
