Best EDC for me for $
Can’t say enough good things about this knife. Stupid value for the money. I’ve carried a ton of different knives, but this is now my go-to. I don’t poop the bed over the D2 like some folks, but it is a good steel that holds its edge. Unlike what I’ve read out there, though, you can sharpen it easily on your normal whetstones. I tune mine up with a 3000/6000 grit and then give it a couple passes on a strop and it stays shaving-sharp for weeks.Fantastic weight and feel. I seriously haven’t seen this quality for the price since CRKT got big.

Nice EDC knife
Great fit and finish. Blade was perfectly sharp out of the box. The handle material is smooth which should be easy on clothes pockets, but not as grippy as I'd like. Taiwan made from a USA company.

Knife great, delivery is awful.
No problem with the knife but the delivery in Tucson is not consistent.

Best bang for the buck folding knife
Great ergonomics, excellent D2 blade steel, and a slick pivot once broken in. This is the perfect everyday beater.Ball bearings at the pivot would make it a bit smoother but they don't hold up as well to the dirt and lint that my EDC typically encounters. Just clean, lube, and strop it once in a while and it's good to go. While I'm not a fan of liner locks, this one is secure and holds up well to typical use.

Deserves it's reputation
I received the RAT-2, D2 steel, G10 scales in Coyote brown. Am very pleased with it.1. Excellent ergonomics, comfortable in hand.2. Very smooth action.3. Blade centered, no wiggle in any direction.4.Long studs, very accessible for operation.5.Good grip purchase.6.Great finish, part alignment & quality control, perfect fit/finish.7. No blade tip projection.Definitely recommend.

Nice EDC knife for the money
Needed a new pocket folder for every day use, don't want to invest in high cost knives due to losing them at stadiums, arenas, airports, etc. Knife is solid. Cross lock works well, scales have good texture for grip, blade arrived sharp (extremely sharp after a quick hone). Value for money is outstanding. I don't want to lose this one but won't weep if it gets confiscated due to my bone-headed forgetfullness.

Buy this knife. You will not be disappointed.
Perfect for lightweight to midweight jobs around the house and as a fidget knife. D2 is a good, tough tool and knife steel and though it contains about 12% chromium technically making it a stainless steel, it is classified as a tool steel. Nice looking knife and well balanced and easy opener with the studs. Craftsmanship is A+ for a knife in the $40 range. Though I own many more expensive knives, there is something about mine that makes me want to carry it everywhere I go. (I bought the coyote brown version and love the look.)

Average at absolute best - updated 5/22/20
Update:I've been living with this knife for a week now and using it as I use any utilitarian pocket knife. Lately I've been rebuilding my garage and putting it to use for various tasks, mostly cutting open packaging and house wrap, pulling the occasional staple, etc.Anyway, I was shocked, first, by how dull (or maybe how much duller since it wasn't terribly sharp to start) the blade is after 7 days. It hacks and labors through plastic packaging now. Second, even more shocked to see deep gouging in the edge near the tip of the blade, to the point where it looks mildly serrated. The only thing I can think of that this could be from is pulling staples. I recognize the knife isn't designed for pulling staples, but I feel that a EDC knife needs to be able to perform jobs outside it's job description, and certainly pulling wire staples shouldn't chip a blade.I'm really disappointed in this knife, to the point where I almost have to wonder if it's the same knife I see all these glowing reviews about. I can see that this is going to quickly become my backup to whatever knife I end up with long-term.***Trying a new blade after losing my Kershaw Leek and my backup Gerber literally fell apart. This Ontario RAT II got crazy good reviews, especially at the under $50 price point. It's... ok.It's very solid but it's pretty clear you're paying for the blade and the rest of the knife is just along for the ride. Nothing particularly bad about it, but I also don't see anything that stands out. The blade's edge is mediocre at absolute best. Its not far from a knife show novelty knife that a one legged vet sells you, right down to the cheesy, cheap packaging and poorly printed blade graphics. Two positives: it's got weight and rigidity to it that you don't get with gas station knives, and I could flick it open without any adjustments right out of the box. It's pretty universally a 4.8* knife, but I'd have a really hard time giving it anymore than an "average" 3.
