Marathi moggu is a type of caper (immature flower buds), also known as Indian Capers or kapok buds. It is a woody bulb like structure with a woody tail at the top. This spice has spicy and strong aroma and is widely used in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka region South Indian cuisines especially in rice dishes like Bisi bele bath, pulao, and in preparations of masalas.
