Trainz 2012
A Great Simulator game the latest in the Trainz series , Plenty of Routes to start , about 19000 items to start building in surveyor to create your own routes and layouts , and plenty to download from the Download station to add to the routes you are creating . If you are a new comer to Trainz some assets require modification to work correctly in Surveyor , and routes you create (there are tools and advice to help you with this process) CompAred to the other Trainz series do prefer the Trainz 2010 title , 7 OUT OF 10 for this game

This is too complicated for my needs
This is too complicated for my needs but trying it out and looking at videos from other users show that it is very good in practise, actually more than I wanted.

Railway Simulator (PC DVD)
Hello Everybody. The game loaded and runs smoothly on my WINDOWS 7 except the graphics break up into coloured squares. But the game is fantastic to play. Goodbye.

I SHOULD HAVE STUCK WITH 2010
I am very disapointed with railway simulator (12) much of the content of the previous version like steam trains, double track are not in this version some can be down loaded via the download manager but a few I have tried have faults in them. I can not see much if any improvement in this new version and although previously I have upgraded each time a new version was released from now on I will stick to my 2010 version.

This Is The Latest Version Of Trainz...
This is actually the latest version of the Auran (now N3V) Trainz software with the name subtlely altered by Just Trains, presumably to avoid confusion with the forthcoming Railworks 3 which is subtitled Train Simulator 2012.TS12 or Rail Simulator as noted is the umpteenth re-release of a title which started out in 2001. You really have to go looking for what's different this time and in some respects this is a lesser product compared to its predecessor TS2010 which many regard as the best Trainz incarnation. In fact TS12 is probably more notable for what N3V have taken out, rather than put in. Gone are most of the routes which came with TS2010, fine lines such as Avery to Drexel have been replaced by somewhat lacklustre Eastern European and Chinese routes, possibly not even based on real prototypes. The Russian and Chinese locos and rolling stock are very good though. Gone too are many of the assets which made TS2010 a superb sandbox for the route builder. N3V did subsequently relent and make these available through their Download Station (though not the TS2010 routes), but you really need a subscription to get the best out of this. Gone too is the compatability mode for older content which means older assets not updated may not load or run correctly in TS12.Particularly irksome is the decision to continue and extend the use of Speedtree technology which started with TS2010. Most of these are godawful ugly and look like something out of a horror movie, particularly minus the leaves. The ECML has been extended and now runs from Kings Cross to Newcastle but, even with the code tweaks, Trainz was never designed to run routes of this length. All but the most powerful PC will slow to a crawl trying to run this behemoth. Despite N3V's out with the old policy, much of the UK motive power and stock hasn't been touched and is looking decidely shabby - compared to the attention lavished on the overseas offerings.Graphically and operationally little has changed. N3V are still bolting bits on to a 10 year old graphics engine. The Surveyor route building tool remains the best feature and is streets ahead of RSC's offering in Railworks. However this is tempered by the continuing inability for the game to render proper points/switches with the ubiquitous splined track and the same limitations on placing tunnels. You still have to set the route as you go and there's no co-ordinated central despatcher or AI signaller to sort it out or real sense of running a disciplined scenario or structured timetable.TS12 does add a multiplayer feature to the game for those interested in that sort of thing. So really down to personal preference if you buy this version. There's no doubt that N3V are not too subtlely trying to leave behind the Auran legacy but when your train sim looks and plays substantially as it did 8 or 9 years ago the Emperor's New Clothes Act becomes less and less convincing.
