Toxic, Tender, and Totally Addictive
Stacey thought she was safe with Kade’s team, but Chris isn’t done with her yet—and he’s more dangerous than ever. Pushed to the edge, Stacey is finally ready to fight back.Kade never expected to see Stacey again, let alone be pulled back into the chaos she brings. He hates her for the past—but he can’t let go of what they once had. She’s his curse and his anchor. As the truth about the night that shattered them comes to light, everything they thought they knew is thrown into question. Some scars run deep—but some truths cut even deeper.Once again, I’m crying over a fictional character. Kade and Stacey’s story has completely consumed me, dragging me into their dark, chaotic world—and I have no plans of leaving it anytime soon. If I could open the pages and step into their world, I would do it in a heartbeat. This story is messy in the best, most emotionally raw way. Stacey is such a powerful female lead—resilient, determined, and constantly fighting for herself, even when everything is stacked against her. I also love how the timeline shifts between the past and the present. The flashbacks aren’t just well-placed—they’re essential. They slowly peel back the layers, building tension and revealing the truth behind who these characters are and how they became so broken. And the way the flashbacks and present moments blend? Absolutely seamless. Never once was I confused. This book feels so real and deeply rooted that I honestly felt like a fly on the wall in their world. The emotional weight is unreal. There were moments I had to put the book down just to process what I had read. That’s how impactful it is.That said, this is a very dark and graphic story—so please, check the trigger warnings. There’s a long list, and they’re not just there for show. Trigger Warnings? Yes. Regrets? Never. I’m beyond emotionally invested in this series. If I don’t get a HEA… I swear I’m never reading again.

Not for the faint of heart....
⭐ Rating: 4/5⭐*THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS*This book is not for the faint of heart. There are deeply disturbing moments, and I strongly urge readers to check trigger warnings before diving in. Scenes involving rape, manipulation, drugging, and the loss of an unborn child are written with such raw intensity. Kade’s pain, especially when he realizes the truth too late, when he's crawling to Stacey, barely alive, crying out how much he loves her, absolutely broke me. Stacey's strength, her silence, and the fear that shaped her every decision were equally hard to witness.Kade and Stacey have easily become one of my all-time favorite fictional couples. Their connection is deeply felt and beautifully written, but their story in this book is anything but easy. It’s brutal, gut-wrenching, and absolutely devastating. Both of them are shattered, haunted by pain and so much trauma. The emotional weight of their separation, when all I wanted was for them to find their way back to each other, was almost too much. Every flashback of their happier moments made the heartbreak even heavier, especially as their current reality only spiraled darker. What makes this book stand out is how well the plot was layered through flashbacks and dual POVs. The past wasn’t just used as filler, it gave their pain context. Kade buying baby items. Stacey mourning in silence. Their love for each other never wavered, even when every circumstance around them tried to tear them apart. Chris is one of the most vile, irredeemable villains I’ve ever read. And Bernadette? I have no words. The violence, the mind games, the cruelty, it was all so horrifying.I know some readers might be frustrated with the limited present-day interactions between Kade and Stacey, but it honestly worked for me. It made sense given where the story needed to go and the tension it created was unbearable in the best way. The pacing and the stakes kept me turning pages with dread, hope, and rage all at once. The ending? That cliffhanger was unreal. I still can’t believe how everything unraveled, and I’m so grateful I don’t have to wait to find out what happens next. With the 3rd book, Restitution already being out, and I’ll be diving in immediately because I need justice, retribution, and more than anything, for Kade and Stacey to finally have peace. If the next book doesn't give them their hard-earned HEA, I don’t know what I’ll do. This series has me in a chokehold, and I’m not okay. Off to start book three now

Epic. Demented. Beautiful . Harsh.
This series is incredible. This is the first time I've read a series by Leigh Rivers. She is truly fantastic. The writing is other worldly, the depth, the amount of emotion she elicits. I don't care if the trope itself or even the story is too infallible to be real. She does an extraordinary job. Both books are 10/10 highly recommend if you enjoy getting your heartbroken.

I’m emotionally shattered and cannot begin Book 3 fast enough. 😭🔥
this one knocked the wind out of me. 🖤🔥Stacey comes home thinking she can breathe. Instead she’s dragged deeper into the unthinkable and Kade? He’s shattered, darker, and more dangerous than ever. Watching them hurt, fight, and claw toward each other feels like watching a beautiful trainwreck in slow motion. This book is raw, brutal, and utterly unputdownable. If you crave enemies-to-lovers turned second-chance with obsession so thick you can taste it then this series will own you. I’m emotionally shattered and cannot begin Book 3 fast enough. 😭🔥#Voracious #LeighRivers #EdgeOfDarkness #DarkRomance #EnemiesToLovers #SecondChance #ObsessedBookBoyfriend #Bookstagram #BookTok #MustRead #TriggerWarning #BookReview #ReadingCommunity

You must read these books in order to understand. I am heading to book 3 and I absolutely LOVE the story line but I must admit I HATE the flashbacks. They are super long, and out of place so its like stories within the story and personally I find it annoying. Typically flashbacks are short to give context to the current story, or the flashbacks are the beginning of the book. I have to admit I completely skipped more than one flashback just scanning a couple sentences on each page to get the gist and move on. The current chapters are however wonderfully written and I can’t put the books down.
