Chavenage Bat Box

Well made and will hopefully one day house bats. Two niggles, I too with some other reviewers think its a bit silly that it is impossible to open even though i understand why because of the law, and two it would be better if the back were flat. The piece of wood with the hole in at the top is attached to the back which means the who box will not easily sit flat against the wall.

Really nicely made box. Good quality wood and nice design. I bought 2 of them, I have place them on the walls (S & SE). The piece of wood with the hole for the to fix it is attached to the back of the box, therefore it does not sit flat against the wall. Maybe good for ventilation. Not sure. Let's see in a few years...

Purchased 5 years ago. It's a lovely size and quality. This simple style looks great on my house - certainly not an eye sore. The bats seem pleased with it too.

Not much to go wrong. We followed the instructions, put it up in a tree, we now have bats living in it.

Really nicely made box. Quality wood and nice design. Hoping that our garden bats who sleep behind our window shutters will migrate to their new purpose built home.

Well made of untreated timber. The ladder into the j=house is good rough sawn to allow the bats to grip on well. I have only just put it up so no bats yet but so far so good. Only slight niggle was that the screws provided were inadequate; a longer pair of stainless steel screws are needed to securely fix it.

I’ve quality bar boxes purchased several for a 70 foot tree in our bat friendly garden

I'm sure it'll do the job, the screws were driven pretty much to through the timber though, who ever put it together could do with some more attention.
