Compact
Love the concept, but admittedly, I have not taken it out of the box yet and did not get a chance to truly check it out. Hopefully this season.

Longer than I need
After I testified it it worked great. First test throw it got tangled. Always get to know your equipment before you need it.I got the 100 ft bag. It is longer than I can throw and probably wouldn’t need this length on a canoe river trip. But sailing on the open water the big bag will be perfect

Essential safety item
Ring is hollow, super light and feels like a child's toy. It needs to float but I think it should be bigger and a bit more sturdy. Aside from that, everything seems as advertied. It's fairly light so not sure how far it can be thrown. It comes with sensible user instructions. It is re-usable and practicing with it is encouraged.

Perfect to comply with the rules and regulations
This item is perfect for a throwing device on board and will work great in the e ent of emergency situation which hopefully never happens. I would rather watch it fade and rot, but it will definitely do the job if needed.

It's GREAT Being Prepared On The Water! A MUST For Every Boat! ;o)
Hello there, nice to meet you! ;o)Talk about literally tossing out a LIFELINE! (Sorry for the all-caps!) When time is of essence, there's isn't a moment to think about what to do, but take instant action that could save someone's life, especially in the water!I truly, truly love helping others. That said, I'm always on the lookout for quality products to make my kayaking experience safe not only for me, but for others-- be it just about any water sports you can think up! Especially more so now that summer is just around the corner! This beautifully made, water-resistant, oxford fabric throw bag with an extra long, yet sturdy rope in a bright fluorescent green-- combined with necessary oversized metal carabiner, is just the ticket! The concept is simple: merely keep the rope-connected carabiner hooked to something permanent on your kayak, canoe, other small type boats, or held firmly in your hand in a pinch, and toss the rope-filled bag with connecting float ring towards the person you are helping and tell them loudly to grab the rope. The rope will unfurl from the bag itself, and you pull the person grabbing the rope towards you. The beauty of the bag holding the rope keeps it from getting tangled, as well as help you collectively throw the bag towards the person that quickly needs rescue. It is easier to throw a bag rather than some skinny rope as it were. There's a handy orange float ring to make sure the rope floats on the surface of the water, rather than sinking under the weight of water. Obviously, this is not a substitute for a life jacket, but it can sure help those in need quickly with your assistance.Love, Love the Details:This well stitched throw bag itself is bright-can't-be-missed fluorescent green, with a mesh upper which is great for seeing the contents within the bag (and aids in keeping the rope at the ready and dry when not in use). The bag has terrific reflective strips and stitching to help make the throw bag more visible during twilight if someone is shining lights upon it. There are two large loops great for anchoring other items to the outside of the bag, as well as anchoring your fingers to aid the length of your throw of the main bag. I could say more, but methinks you get the idea! ;o)Highly recommended and then some! Do a great deed-- have this throw bag on your kayak, canoe, what have you, STAT! You'll never know who needs this device... like today or tomorrow! You can make a difference in someone's life! ;o)Give this Better Boat Water Throw Bag for Water Rescue a try... I don't think you'll regret your purchase.***********************************************************May Your Upcoming Summer Be Full Of FUN! ;o)Cheerio and Best of Luck in all your endeavors! Hopefully, this review was helpful.

Nice Throw Bag With A Long Rope
This is a pretty nice budget throw bag and it has a good long rope. I like that everything is bright and very visible. This bag is a little bigger than most others, but unless you are hiking a long distance with it that shouldn't be an issue. Definitely not an issue on a larger boat. The 98ft rope would be more suitable for shore rescues using anchor points or multi person techniques where extra length is needed. The bag is very durable and well made. It also has good ventilation for drying. With a little practice throwing one of these properly is quite easy. I do highly recommend you practice!!! The one thing about this throw bag that is strange is the orange ring. That is not normally on any other throw bag I've ever seen. You would not want a swimmer to grab that ring and start having all the extra rope coming out on them. You are supposed to throw the bag past and over the swimmer, well behind them. They shouldn't be grabbing for the bag at all. The rope only comes out the bottom of the bag like that so you can quickly attach it to an anchor point or another rope if needed. I would highly suggest removing that ring because it could cause a dangerous situation if the swimmer grabs it. Other than that though I really like the throw bag overall. It's a nice piece of budget rescue equipment and I would recommend it.On top of practicing, I would also highly recommend you watch some videos on the YouTubes to learn how to properly throw and use a throw bag. There are different techniques and anchor methods for different situations. If not used correctly you can miss your swimmer, get you or them tangled in the rope, or get yourself pulled in.
