I washed the pillow protectors as soon as I got them, put them on my feather pillows and slept well. We then went on vacation with our kids "dogs. One of them is a puppy, well we brought a couple of our pillows with and the puppy had an accident on the pillow, mind you they are feathered pillows and was hoping that it did it's job...... SURE ENOUGH.... took the pillow protectors off and washed them and not a drop was on my pillow. I loved them so much I bought another set.... luv,luv them... oh when u dry them in the dryer turn them inside out and leave them unzipped. Hope this review is helpful to someone!! Thx

I was a little leery after opening the package wondering if I should have bought something different but then how will I know if I don't try them. I washed them first like the instructions said. They come with a 20yr limited warranty! They fit our new Natural Comfort firm filled king size pillows perfectly. There is no sound from them or ballooning. When I put my hand in the pillowcase I feel the nice soft terry cloth of the cover knowing the inner liner is protecting the pillow from any moisture. This will keep my husband's body oils from reaching the pillows. I also received an email from the company making sure I received my order plus some helpful hints and a contact number. Couldn't be more pleased.

I've been using the mattress and pillow protectors for over 6 months now and I couldn't be happier with my purchases!I shopped around quite a bit to find the right protectors...something with no plastic feel or sound, yet still soft. I finally found them! These protectors feel like the softest fleece...so smooth and silky. And even though I can see the somewhat shiny layer of protective "plastic" on the inside, I cannot feel it or hear it on the outside. It's like an optical illusion of some sort.I have a rather expensive pillow, it has a cooling effect, and I was worried about sealing it in with a waterproof cover...but somehow, true to its word, this cover actually is breathable! My head does not sweat at all. (Well, any more than is normal for me)I can also speak on its protection capabilities. I was having coffee in bed one morning when our dog decided she wanted to play. I spilled close to a full cup of coffee on my pillow and bed. Not a drop made it through. AND there wasn't even a stain left after I washed them!I highly recommend these protectors. For both function and comfort.

UPDATE:I recently had to open my stash of these pillow protectors, as our puppy was diagnosed with canine parvo and had been snuggling on every bed in the house. It was recommended that we wash all of our bedding in bleach, and discard anything that couldn't be washed. (Per the manufacturer, these pillow cases should not be washed in bleach). I was so shocked at the poor quality of these most recent waterproof pillow protectors from Ultra Block. The new batch was completely different from the pillow protectors that I purchased in April.The texture of the terry cloth was rough, like a burlap sack. The instructions indicate that they should be washed before using, so I thought that perhaps they would fluff up after washing. To my immense disappointment, they felt like rough sandpaper. I decided to put one on my pillow and put a soft flannel pillow case over it for the softness. I had to take it off after an hour. I just couldn't stand the stiffness and crinkly noise.This new batch of pillow protectors from Ultra Block felt like I had put a plastic rain poncho, covered with sandpaper on my pillow.Such a shame. I would not recommend this product now.Second update as of April and May 2019As the original pillow protectors were the best that we have ever bought, I decided to try purchasing again. I was thrilled to receive those wonderful, plush, quiet, cool protectors that I had originally bought. I quickly ordered 4 more sets!As I was so disappointed in my previous batch, I tried so many other pillow protectors, but none compared at all to these.These pillow protectors have been a great investment for me, as they have lasted much longer than I expected. I have several sets that have been put through the wash hundreds of times in the past year or so, and they still function perfectly, just a little more off white than the new sets. 😀I’m probably going to purchase a few more sets to have in my closet. I would highly recommend this product.... but I would definitely do the touch test to make sure that they have the beloved teddy bear plush feel. 😃Review of pillow protectors purchased in April 2018:My family love these pillow protectors! The terry fabric is so soft and plush that my kids like to sleep with no pillow cases over them. My daughter says that it's like sleeping with a soft teddy bear under her head. 😀They truly are waterproof, and very stain resistant. My son spilled acai purée on one of the cases. None of the purée leaked through to the pillow, and a gentle rub with mild detergent released the stain immediately. He also had a nose bleed at some point, and the blood had dried in to the pillow case before I noticed. Amazingly, with just a little rub of mild detergent, the stain was gone!These pillow cases are also very quiet to sleep on.I highly recommend these pillow protectors. After my initial order, I ordered 5 more sets. When I went back to order more, I was so disappointed to see that they weren't in stock. After months of looking, I was so pleased to see them back in stock, and ordered 5 more sets just to have extras in my laundry closet.

Surprisingly quiet, odor free and exactly what we wanted. The pillow case instructions recommend a light rinse before use with the zipper closed. When the cycle was done I pulled them out of the washer and brought water along with them all over me - they really are waterproof. The inside of each pillowcase was holding watch from the rinse...I thought this was impressive. I turned them inside out for the second rinse before use and I felt the inside material was gonna make noise as soon as my head touched the pillowcase - and I was wrong.The second rinse made everything perfect damp. I line dried and them placed them over my pillows. We're very pleased.Before these covers my wife used only one pillow in our house without nasal congestion in the morning. All of our pillows have these covers now and she can use all the pillows - we are very pleased.The fabric is also silent and that's a surprise. I thought it would crinkle like plastic under my ears and it does not.The outside cloth of these cases prevent the pillow from slipping out of the case - I hate when pillows slip out of their case and with these cpvers we are very pleased.And last, I thought the plastic inside these would stink - No Way - No stink.All in all these are great for my wife's allergy and a good, quiet night's sleep - I didn't think it would be so - but we are very pleased with this cover and the zipper and the fabric and the end results.
