Excellent product
I usually just grab a stick from the woods to walk with but lately taking more walks and considering the possibilities for shelter systems, it seemed time to try at least one trekking pole.I can only yet provide first impressions but there are things here worth mentioning. This is a very nice item. It does feel lightweight and at the end of the day it's less weight than most sticks I've used, just as sturdy and more comfortable. The green version of these were appealing but I'm glad I got the blue because it will be easier to find if misplaced. It's not too bright and seems a good hue.Following instructions and having watched the reviews of the similar earlier models, I pulled the pieces together to make the pole and set it to the most comfortable height. It seemed good but a little loose at the joints. If it were possible for two or three of the joints to also twist tight at this stage, the pole might feel like one piece. Not sure if that would add weight or simply be unnecessary but it's an idea. At the top near the button there seemed to be some extra slack so I took the top handle section of the pole off and let out the cord to investigate. Was able to push some up through the crimp and work it through to tighten back up the knot. I might get some pliers to tighten the crimp a little but I am confident in the security of the thing as it is. The only part which feels somewhat loose is the joint where the two sections meet up near the button. If it were possible that the part just above the button was flanged out a bit, it might not rock around. I barely notice it and it does not effect the stability or any other function but it is there. The rubber boot part which fits on the tip fits snug and doesn't seem like it will fall off by accident. Time will tell on that and for the clamping part near the handle used for height adjustment. I'm going to make an effort to not overtighten that part in order that I might lengthen the lifespan of the pole by doing so. It should be easy enought to find a replacement if ever one is needed.I've certainly shaken the weaknesses out of this thing and I'm still impressed by it's integrity under more than normal weight and with holding the tension of my tarp shelter. It's an excellent piece of engineering worth more than the price they are charging here. I'm confident that it will hold up to everything I bring it through for quite some time.

Excellent, as advertised.
I bought this for my trip to Dubrovnik, Croatia, old town. I specifically wanted to walk the ancient city walls. The route is fairly demanding for able bodied people which I am not. The stick was excellent, I couldn’t have completed the walk without it! Lightweight, sturdy and folds easily for stowage in my daypack. The negative reviews I would chalk up to user error, locking the stick with the silver detent button is essential to proper function/sturdiness! Value for money is absolute.

Useful and packable
I was a bit skeptical about its functionality at first but it’s well constructed for what it is - highly packable in luggage (smaller than other I found). I’m 6’1” and it’s just barely high enough at full extension for me. If you’re any taller, I suggest another brand. I needed a stick that would fit in my luggage so I had to compromise a bit for height and ultimate durability. But I was happy with my selection for my need.

I'm glad I ordered this trek pole!
I have used this trek pole on multiple hikes and I really like it. It's lightweight and sturdy. When you receive it, before you do anything read the instructions carefully for how to assemble it. At first I thought I pulled it apart and damaged it. Had I actually read the instructions first I would have known it wasn't damaged. It's also important to read the instructions to understand how to lock it into place. If you lock it in correctly, it will not collapse. If this trek pole eventually wears out or I lose it somewhere, I'll definitely order again.

My Mom Loved It
I got this for my mother to use on a recent trip to Colorado. She had never used one before and found it to be very helpful as we walked thru different shopping venues and tourist attractions....she really liked that she could use it to rest some of her weight on when stopped/standing waiting on cross walks etc....really appreciated how handy it was when walking up steps, uphill and on gravel. It was very easy to deploy, easy to disassemble and put back in the carrying bag. Great product.

It comes apart unexpectedly, now
Have used the pole several times and it worked fine plus it fits in the suitcase when we travel This last time out, it started coming loose while we were walking. the middle pole would just slip off and I would have to push it back together. I really cannot trust it, so am resorting back to my trusty LL Bean Pole, it sided together, but is just longer making me carry them on my backpack when we travel. If someone is reading this and has had the same problem, is there a solution for the slipping out, cause I do like the size when it folds up.

Junk
I bought two of these sticks for a multi day hike in Dolomites. One stick started coming apart after two hours. I needed to secure all of the joints with sports tape. The second stick fell apart on the morning of the second day and also needed to be secured at the joints with sports tape. Definitely not safe and not worth the money.

helps with balance and stability
I liked that it folds up for storage and it is light weight and adjustable height. There is one deficiency a portion of the extend segment seems to get stuck inside of tube, however you can fix this easily.
