Brilliant and Sturdy if Built Correctly
Reading the reviews saying it's floppy, weak, thin and various other negative comments, you have to conclude the reviewers don't understand structural engineering. This is an ingenious design but it MUST be assembled correctly and this relies on the tabs being inserted correctly and fully.Granted the diagram is confusing until after you've done a few. The key is that the two tabs must slot into the slots and right down flush into the second part of the slot. You guide the tab into the second part using a thin screwdriver.Banging them fully home makes for a strong locked joint. As all four corners are done the section becomes rigid.Start with the base with a space of one slot below and work upwards to the next shelf. There are two halves and concentrate on the lower one first. After fitting the small joints, the top half can be built up.Centre cross members have two tabs which need to be bent just over 90 degrees and as the tab comes out it can be bent over to hold the cross member firmly in place. Some reviewer's say the shelves are too thin but as they are well supported at all edges and across the centre this is irrelevant and I have stacked heavy machinery on it without any sag. The key is even distribution and putting heavy stuff on the bottom shelf, putting lighter stuff on higher shelves. The unit should be screwed firmly to a wall if safety is a concern and then the rigidity increases greatly. It says this in the instructions. In conclusion, a well designed unit IF ASSEMBLED CORRECTLY.Very happy and recommended.

Good value
Tricky to assemble but once up is sturdy enough. Shelving looks flimsy but seems well supported by the structure. For the price I wasn't expecting much but this gives me what I needed. Actually I'm quite pleased with it.

Light weight and versatile
The shelves come flat packed and once I got the hang of assembly are reasonably easy to assemble. When assembled they are fairly strong.I put heavier things on the bottom shelves, lighter on the higher ones.Great customer service too.

soft metal frame
Difficult to erect due to the poor standard of the metal framework. I have previously had this type of shelving and found them easy to put together. Unfortunately, this product is inferior; soft metal work, with sharpish edges, cross pieces do not slot in easily and the caps for the ends do not stay in place. I would not recommend these shelves unless you are storing lightweight items and you have plenty of time to devote to assembly.

It's not a straightforward DIY
I just received it today and managed to build it in an hour with the help of youtube vids. Please type in Tier 5 storage shelf on YT for guidance. You also need to have a handy screw driver to ensure you properly lock it and a piece of hardwood or like on the instructions , a piece of rubber mallet. (I used another screw driver to serve as a hammer). So far, it looks sturdy but it does wiggle when you try to shake it so I am not sure how good it's gonna be in the long term. For now, its 5 stars as it made our shared living space much organised and also you can adjust the shelves to your liking.

Very cheap for a reason
This 5 tier shelf is cheap for a reason!!I only needed some budget storage racks & thought this would be perfect at the price...WRONG!!If you order this, do not take it out of the box without wearing gloves, the edges are sharp and in some cases appear unfinished, the wooden shelves do not seem to be sturdy enough to support anything close to the advertised weight. The assembly instructions look like the come from the 1970's and are pretty much useless, pictures are blurred and no clear direction of which direction to assemble the metalwork. very thin metalwork and part of the instruction actually tells you the bend or guide metal tabs into place with a screwdriver. Then there is the game of guess which cross piece goes where, as again there is no clear indication of which part is which, with nothing labelled to help identify them.As I write this, still arguing over who's paying to return this and refund for the cost of returning. On the plus side, the customer care team do reply promptly to messages or enquires, so thats why 1 star.

Looks great, little bit flimsy!
These shelves. Once assembled are sturdy and look great! Assembly however takes time and patience! Difficult to add shelves without parts misaligning, as described in instructions - took many attempts to get right!Shelves initially feel flimsy and lightweight, however once in place, these take a decent amount of weight and look good!Only other niggle is that the shelves stain very easily if they come into contact with liquid etc (I have a microwave on one of the shelves and any spillages are absorbed by the porous shelves!)Apart from that, these are great! Just beeds patience to build and be careful of any staining!
