Sturdy 110V/220V travel adapter with international plugs
I got this travel adapter so that when the family travels locally or overseas, we have enough outlets for us to plug in our devices and electrical appliances. The neat thing about it is that it can be used in countries which use 220V or 110V. The cable that plugs the travel adapter base to the wall is a standard American plug, so we can use this in the US in our hotel rooms too. To use it for other countries, it comes with 5 adapter plugs (EU/UK/AU/Italy/Israel) which you plug the US plug into. The travel adapter isn't as small (measures 6 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches and by slightly more than 1 1/4 inches) or as light as I would like for a travel adapter. But then understandably, it is a voltage converter, and it isn't chintzy and the weight does add to its sturdy build. I like that it has an on/off switch for where there is a tiny blue lit LED light (it isn't bright so it doesn't light up the whole room at night) when it is on and working. The switch is for both the 4 USB ports as well as 3 power outlets, so you can switch off the charging without having to pull the plug out of the wall or out of the travel adapter. Finally, in the instructions, there is a strong warning on only charging electrical equipment like a hair dryer, laptop, electric kettle, devices with input voltage of 100-230W or devices with power between 50W and 1875W, and not to use this power converter for devices with below 50W power (working voltage of below 100V). The adapter comes with a nice soft velvety drawstring pouch to carry it in.

This is NOT a converter!!!
This product is a dud!!! I do t write reviews very often but needed to with this one. This is NOT a converter! Do not be fooled. It is simply an adapter and I cannot even return it (must be returned by June 29 but we won’t be back until July 6) because I am currently out of the country (finally got the chance to try this out because we just got to London and it shortened my daughter’s Kindle!) I am very disappointed by the false advertising on this product especially because I looked up so many reviews and fine print on converters! Now, I’ll be stuck with this adapter and have a broken Kindle Fire!!!

Product label "won't work for electric toothbrush, curling iron, hair straightener below 50w". Check your devices b4 purchasing
Beware....description says "compatible with a wide variety of electronic devices up to 2000w" with pictures of hair dryer, drill, tea kettle.... BUT label on adapter device says "not allowed to use with charger and electrical equipment such as electric toothbrush, curling iron, hair straightener, etc. power below 50w. Wish I new about this label before purchase as my hair straightener shows 35w and I wouldn't have bought this item if it was clear from the start that it wouldn't handle my needs.

This ruined two laptop chargers and a set of beard trimmers on a trip to Australia
I took this with me on a trip to Amsterdam and had no issues using it with laptops and phone chargers. In Australia, though, it caused a loud clicking noise from the electrical outlets when laptops were plugged in, and shorted out two laptop charging cords. It did the same with a professional beard trimmer. I could not find anything in the manual that came with it to indicate that we used it in any way that it was not intended to work, and Australia is a country for which it is specifically intended. The value of the electronics this device ruined is over $250. It was not worth it. This device is garbage, and I would not even trust its safety after my experience. Wildly disappointed and dissatisfied.

Deadly, Deadly, Deadly. Touch only with a ten foot pole.
Devices plugged into it are “live” and give electrical shocks of various degrees. A USB phone connector gave a very hefty electrical shock when touched, and the metal backing of an iPad also gave a substantial electrical shock. The thing is a “death trap”. Defective wiring or something. Ours is in the trash, and my right forearm and foot are still numb from the shock and my finger is still tender where the current flowed through it. Not sure how to go about suing the company that makes it, but at least I am still alive.

Beware of the wattage used on ac outlets!!
I tested using 240 vac 60hz US power with a 500 watt work light plugged into the ac outlet and one cell phone charging using the USB outlet. The measured voltage on the other AC outlets were 109 vac. Everything worked good. Note if you measure the ac outlets without a minimum load of 50 watts they read 240 ac. This is just like advertised. If you plug in a load smaller than 50 watts you will damage the device plugged.

I bought this to use in Israel
I had 2 problems with this product. The first is that everywhere we went in Israel the wall plugs had a round recessed cover and the plugs for this converter are square and too large to go into the recess. Therefore the plug was loose and unless the plug was tight the plug would fall out and disconnect. I later found that the 2 prong plug worked ok and would fit into the recessed plugs. The second and more important problem was that the converter did not have enough power to heat my wife's flat iron. The flat iron draws a maximum of 1500 watts and this converter was supposed to be able to output 1850 watts. Upon returning home the flat iron works fine, but it wouldn’t even begin to heat with this converter,

Company stands behind its product totally
The performance of this unit failed upon my first use. However it is electronics and stuff happens. When the company was contacted, they immediately refunded me my payment and will provide me with an additional unit at no charge. So my feelings are mixed... disappointed in initial performance, but appreciative for a company that does its best to make things right. Given the earlier excellent reviews, looks like I won the lemon lottery. As I said earlier, stuff happens especially with electronics.
