Daydream...One of the BEST Mariah Carey CDs yet!!!
So, I have been a HUGE Mariah Carey fan ever since I was little and I almost have most of her CDs (hey, I liked to collect CDs back in the day). So, when I heard so many good things about her CD "Daydream," of course I had to pick this BABY up (Mariah Carey fan that I am)! So, when I started listening to this GEM of a CD, I was seriously ROCKING my head to the awesome beats on this CD and I must say that Mariah Carey continues to get me THUMPING to the beats of her songs, especially on this CD! Probably, my most favorite songs on this CD were "Fantasy," "Underneath the Stars," "Melt Away," and "Daydream Interlude!"So, if you are looking for some OLD SCHOOL 90s Mariah Carey music to keep you dancing all the night long, then her CD "Daydream" is definitely the one CD that you need to check out as soon as you can!

Amazing Album, disappointing delivery
Love this album unconditionally, it just arrived in disgusting condition. The cover came all pushed in and wrinkled. I may understand this if it were just the corners but no, it was the surface of the sleeve itself. (See photos) For the price I would think that the packaging would be MUCH better but it was disappointing. People should research how to correctly package and ship Vinyl!!

The Best!! Melt Away
Oh man this takes me back. Turned this CD over more times then I could ever count. Reading Mariah's new book has me stepping back in time and listening to her songs with a whole new meaning and appreciation. By far one of her best releases with every song being so good!! Memories flooding back. Someone robbed me years ago and took all my CDs. I'm so glad to find this and share it one day with my kids. One Sweet Day and Melt Away... Thanks Mariah

Mariah Carey: Daydream (1995)
Continuing my Mariah Carey Album track by track reviews.Daydream is Mariah's 5th major studio album (excludes her MTV EP) and a fan favorite for good reason. Like Music box, most of the songs are slow or mid tempo, however around this time they start to get a more R&B flavor and the songs become more personal. Oh, and her voice sounds better than ever, that doesn't hurt.1. Fantasy: Uptempo, nearly identical melodically to Dreamlover from her previous album, but with a breezier vibe. 9/102. Underneath the Stars: Mariah starts to sing with more whispery vocals in this album, and it works wonderfully in this intimate lyric-driven number. 10/103. One Sweet Day: Mariah collaborated with BoysIIMen and the result was a song that sat atop the charts for 16 straight weeks, a record! The song has some gospel as well as R&B influences. 9/104. Open Arms: A breathtaking cover of Journey's song. 9/105. Always Be My Baby: The hits keep coming, I adore this song! 10/106. I Am Free: Slow ballad with gorgeous lyrics. 9/107. When I Saw You: Great ballad, but then again aren't they all? 7/108. Long Ago: Uptempo again! Almost hip-hop with a very catchy beat. 9/109. Melt Away: Very subdued, sensual, soothing, all that. 9/1010. Forever: A ballad nearly on par with "hero" and "Without You". 10/1011. Daydream Interlude: A club mix of Fantasy, pleasant but too short. 7/1012. Looking In: Haunting, introspective, and personal. 9/10Final Album Rating: 8.92

Enjoyed it
Arrived on time. I got this album when it first came out. Either it got lost in the shuffle or I got rid of it but I heard one of the songs again. I purchased it and it’s still great.

Amazing!
It took me listening to this CD 3 times to like it. That is usually how it is for me to like a particular album. The 3rd time was the charm. I was actually paying attention to the songs. It is pretty amazing. She is super talented. Its hard to find an album nowadays that u like 90% of the songs on. "Emancipation of Mimi" and " E=MC2" was not put up to the standards of her earlier albums which is a shame but I am still a fan of Ms. Carey for the work she did back in the days.

This is Mariah on point. Definitely her best album.
It has some pop (Fantasy, Always Be My Baby), some R&B (Melt Away, Long Ago) and even some dance music (Fantasy, Daydream Interlude). From start to finish I can seriously listen to this CD. While Long Ago is the weakest track here, it doesn't make for a bad song. It just sounds a bit outdated. My favorites are:Underneath The Stars (one of the most powerfully-lulling melodies I've ever heard in mainstream music...)FantasyOpen ArmsWhen I Saw YouDaydream InterludeandLooking In.Don't miss out on Mariah's best album, right behind it? Butterfly. Buy it today!! In fact, maybe you should buy two and share with a friend. ^_^

Sounds OK, but find an original 1995 copy for optimal sound
Daydream is one of Mariah Carey's best albums, featuring her hits Fantasy, One Sweet Day, Always Be My Baby and Open Arms. One of my favourite tracks on this album is the closing track Looking In, which is perhaps one of the most underrated songs in Ms Carey's career.Originally released in 1995, many labels were not issuing music on vinyl at the time and those that did, usually did very small runs and the releases weren't always global. This album was released in South America and a few European Territories (including the UK, I believe), but soon became a collector's item.As such, the original LP's from 1995 have been rising in price and ones in pristine condition can be quite expensive. The LP being reviewed is the 2021 edition, which was released as part of a general reissue of all Mariah Carey LP's.I will get to the good bit first, the album sounds crisp and clear, though it is a foldown from the hi-res digital master, according to the record sleeve. It sounds no worse for it, and this would make a worthy addition to anyone's record collection. It truly is a sensational record and one that I have fond memories of playing during my teenage years.Where this edition fails is in its presentation. The original album cover featured a sepia tinted image of Carey, but here looks monochromes, and overly dark. To top it off, the print quality is poor. Comparing the image to the 1995 CD cover and images of the 1995 LP releases, certainly the older edition looks much better. I think many of these Mariah Carey reissues have received poor treatment when it comes to presentation. It is rather disappointing because one would think the people who packaged this edition would have paid more attention, given that Carey is a superstar and deluxe vinyl editions often feature much better quality printed sleeves than this. There was a gold disc edition released in the US as well and the record sleeve for that edition was the same as this version. The other thing is that the original 1995 LP version sounds way better. Though this edition sounds perfectly good, if you cannot fork out to get a vintage copy, I would say keep this, but for the true fan, one who would like just as much to display this classic record, the older edition looked way cooler. I also think the newer editions of Carey's reissues rely too much on digital transfers and the older version is a true analogue master for vinyl. Obviously those copies are now rare so most would have to settle for this version, and it is good that it has been released but Sony should have made more of an effort to reproduce the cover image the correct way. As it is, it just looks like a cheap reproduction.

MC30 Daydream
All good nice to finally have the lyric inner sleeve. Ordered at £20.94 and the same day went down to £17.99 let’s say amazon were extremely unhelpful and would refund the difference.

Its absolutely brillant, I'm so happy I finally own it !!
Its so perfect. Last year I bought the "Vinyl Me Please" version of the album and it was great but it didn't come with the inner sleeve with the words on it so thats why I got this one, its got quite a few bits of damage to the sleeve like it's bent and creased on all the corners with a scratch on the front, but the record is in perfect shape so that's all I care about, its so perfect 🧡
