It's the ph of the nutrient solution that's important and must be controlled, as ir will soak the rock wool cubes.

Q: do you remove the paper?

I leftbthe plastic wrapper on while growing the seedlings but took it off when it planted

Q: Do I have to soak these in water first before placing clones or seeds?

You can put the seed in dry and then wet it. With a clone it may be better to wet it first to make it a little softer.

Typical grodan quality.

Have had 100% germination success so far with ph’ed water, and these with a slighty opened sandwich bag propped open with a toothpick stabbed through the plastic bag for ventilation control.
