This is my first retractable golf training tool, so I can't compare it to others but I can say it fits in my duffel bag. It's only about 15 inches long when compressed and it has a bit of weight to it, which makes it feel substantial.The trainer has a golf ball at the end, which appears to me like a real golf ball cover. It's attached to a lathe steel shaft, and it comes with a standard training grip. But this trainer is only for right-handed people. I could probably remove the grip and replace it with a standard one if needed. The trainer extends about 8 inches. It's spring-loaded, so when released, it snaps back quickly. This helps train me to time my swing correctly. The goal is to have the fastest speed at the point of impact or just beyond it. If I release it too early, I will notice the ball firing out prematurely. Even when fully extended, it's around 23 inches long. So I can train in limited spaces without worrying about hitting anything.The included black elastic band helps keep my hands and arms connected to my body, promoting proper rotation and maintaining connection throughout my swing. It ensures I stay connected as I rotate. If I feel my arms pushing against it, it indicates that my form is off. Often, I reach the top of my swing and either spin out or allow my elbows to separate, resulting in a chicken wing effect at impact. The elastic band helps me maintain the correct arm position, much like lifting a heavy object with elbows in, enhancing my rotation and ensuring straighter shots. This training aid along with the retractable golf swing trainer hopefully will help fix my path and improve my overall swing consistency.

I'm a novice golfer but I do like this as a warm-up tool. I'm old and have to make sure I don't pull anything so this is perfect for that.

Lots of golf "gadgets" out there are pointless, but this one is genuinely helpful. As someone who has not taken golf lessons in a long while, it was interesting to me to see how much my positioning and swing have slipped from the correct method. The grip positioner and arm band really help you to understand how your body should be held - it's like having a human caddy to correct your movements.The clicks that happen during swings do a great job of letting you understand how your body is moving and timed, in relation to the ball, for maximum efficiency and control. The fact that the whole thing is retractable means that you can even go through full swings in smaller rooms (not to mention the fact that it takes up less storage space). You no longer risk decapitating friends and family with practice swings. A few minutes of this every day would definitely make a difference in your golf game!
