A lot more fun to use than expected
This isn't my first FNIRSI product and I can already tell it won't be the last. Yet another solidly built and easy to use device. I have other "full-sized" bench scopes & multi meters & LCR-meters and so on, and I obviously don't expect this to replace those, but where the DSO-TC3 is going to shine for me is in my tool bag. It will compliment a good clamp-on multimeter nicely... I'm real happy with it so far.

This thing is awesome, very sensative.
Love the size and the overall sensitivity and the resolution is very good. I would have killed for this device while attending college studying electronics. Great value for money.

Good product for the price
seems to work as it is supposed to so far and much more affordable than other options

Not a professional tester, but decent for DIY
I have "professional" test equipment as do many that do reviews on Amazon. All those are factory calibrated, and periodically need to be recalibrated using extremely precice gear. This little oscilloscope/generator/transistor tester/etc. is a really nice compact little unit for hobby use. It isn't for professional use however like the listing boasts. Amazon does have pro gear- and it's very expensive. You get what you pay for.Having said that, this isn't a bad device. I tested a variety of transistors, FETS, MOSFETS, Capacitors, and diodes. For the most part, the results were within 10% of actual, which for a budget multimeter isn't bad at all. For instance, beta was within 10% on both NPN, and PNP transistors I tested. It's close enough to give you a decent idea what kind of gain you will get. Some transistors I tested were within 2% of actual, so that was encouraging. I especially like the display of the part schematic symbol on the screen when the test completes.Capacitors were well within 5% of actual. Diode forward voltage drop appeared within 1-2% of actual. Again, that's pretty good for a budget multimeter. I can't complain there at all.The signal generator was a little off however. When setting to 1khz sine, it spits out 1.023khz. It's like that through most of its spectrum capabilities. If I'm using it to test PWM circuits and need to inject a 50% duty cycle, it's just fine. Being off a tad isn't going to change my test. The oscilloscope is good for looking at audio and PWM signals. It's fairly accurate, but the one I received did harbor similar accuracy issues likened to the signal generator.I don't want to put you off getting one, especially if you plan on using the transistor test features. That's where this shines imho. The other features are fine as long as you aren't expecting it to work like something costing 100 times as much. For the most part, it's really useful for what it does.Keep in mind the oscilloscope tops out at 500khz, so it isn't going to be much use beyond that.Worthy of consideration for DIY work.

Super useful
I really like how you can test transistors with this. It feels more intuitive to me to have the slots on the front to connect a transistor rather than using allegator clips because the slots won't accidentally cross. The whole unit is portable, which is convenient, it comes with all the basics. Overall, it's a good device for DIY people.

A good scope for simple DIY or studying.
I'm a simple DIY layperson who happens to have an interest in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, repair, etc. From that perspective, I can provide some insight into this product. I will say up front that a true professional (like an electrician) will have needs that nothing at this price point can provide. But this is a good device and a strong value for DIYers or those who are studying.1. Build is solid. It certainly doesn't feel like a cheap toy by any stretch.2. It comes with the basic accessories you'll need for most testing needs.3. The screen quality is readable, though a bit small and pixelated.4. Controls work and are easy to press, though the condensed format means many buttons have dual-purpose, so keep the manual nearby.Overall, I used the device to make it through a few DIY tutorials to become accustomed to different testing procedures. So far, it has held up and I think it will take a solid place in the garage for the next time (and there will be a next time), some household product needs repair.
