I've been gardening for better than a decade now and these days, we raise almost 700 garden starts from seed every year. At a certain garden size, you need serious plant mobility. One of the best investments I've made has been into heavy duty 1020 trays. I've used Super Sprouter Quad trays, PermaNest trays and have been happy with both. But, my garden had expanded beyond my 20 tray capacity. I was open to trying something new, these looked to fit my heavy duty criteria, so I figured I'd try these Bootstrap Farmer 1020 trays. These trays are as good or better than my other quality 1020 trays, and not just for the awesome color selection.The difference between a true heavy duty 1020 tray and a regular 1020 tray is night and day. If you're just getting into gardening or you've been unhappy with light duty trays, this is the grade of tray you're looking for. The heavy duty trays will last for many years and will outlast light duty trays 20+ to 1.These Bootstrap 1020 trays easily allow transport of a full tray of plants, regardless of the pot or insert size you might be using. Even my bulky 5.5" pots, filled with wet soil and weighing probably 40+ pounds, are no match for these trays. The Bootstrap trays fit all my existing 1020 accessories (domes, inserts, pots) without any troubles. These trays are great for bottom watering your plant starts, definitely go for the no-hole version. These green trays are super snazzy looking too, but I would have been happy with any color. (See update!) The price tag may seem a bit high, but they are worth every penny for the number of years you get out of them.The biggest problem I have is people trying to steal my heavy duty trays when I deliver extra plants to my fellow gardeners! More than once, they'll try to give me back a cheap 1020 tray thinking I may not notice. These bright green ones are perfect for that purpose, not once has anyone tried to steal one!For an optimal fitting setup, you can use 2 inch pots, 3.5 inch pots or 5.5" inch pots with these. These sizes will provide 50, 18 and 8 plant sites per tray, respectively. All 1020 based inserts, such as 606/608/1206/1208/etc will also work perfectly in this tray. Most 200 and 128 cell germination trays come in 1020 size and will fit these trays. Other pots sizes will work in these trays, but the above will get you optimal capacity and transport.I intend to buy more products from Bootstrap Farmer. If I were buying a new germination setup, I'd give a hard look at Bootstrap Farmer's 200 cell tray. I really like how they made it deep, working with a standard 1020 tray. Keep up the good work.

Great product! It’s really hard to find trays of high quality and strength that have the look of these. All the trays I found around (hydro shops of course) all black and flimsy for growing pot. Well I’m not I’m growing microgreens and when I present the tray to the chef it can’t look like I took it out of a green house and it also can’t bend and fall on the ground when I hand it to him/her. The trays have pockets for the water to go into and hold moisture as well as no drain holes. Works perfect for what I’m trying to do.These trays surpassed my expectations. I definitely will order from this vendor again no problem.Even if you’re not growing microgreens the trays are so durable you can safely water and carry them from point A to point B easily. As well they add color to the room that I enjoy. Panda film and bright led lights are boring and I like excitement and pizzazz.Also I would like to add I saw reviews of people not pleased with the shipping. That’s amazon folks don’t be mad at the vendor. My shipment was on time and not one break in any of my trays.Thank you Bootstrap Farmer for supplying a product I needed and a luxury service.

I paid a bit extra for the green trays, I just love how they look with anything in them! They are very rugged, whatever color, and should last a lifetime. I will certainly buy more.

I had purchased the black ones before so I needed a few more this time I went for the pink color to use indoors for plant propagations. These tray won't bend, they are very sturdy, fits the dome covers I already own and should last a very long time if ever before needing to be replaced. Love the colored trays, if I had more space for plants I'd get them all.

These work well, they are made so they don't sag, they don't warp in the heat of the car, nor do they distort or contort from heat or sunlight.

I am a former industrial (product designer) who chose to stay home with our children. I chose farming on family property upon re-entering the workforce.Bootstraps products are refreshing and extremely useful. I’d say these trays are an investment but 100% worth it because they are REUSABLE. There is a ton of plastic wasted in farming and I wish folks would come up with better products solutions that can be retailed to the average small farmer.It’s has amazed me that a profession boasting soil health & human physical health does not see an issue with utilizing so much plastic!I am THRILLED that you sell reusable trays. I hope to continue ordering them in in future until I replace all of my current flimsy 1020 trays.Wishing companies would find a way to create super sturdy cell trays next ;-) hint hint.

These are not as thick as I was expecting but thicker than the average big box store. You can't grab corner and lift up a whole tray of 3" pots it will bend or break. But when you use two hands you can easily lift up the tray and it feels pretty strong. I was expecting super heavy duty that you can lift up the tray by the corner like my ac infinity ones that came with my humidty dome. I had major shipping issues the company was blaming Amazon. I had to order 3 times and spend ours with customer support. The 3 star rating does not reflect that.
