Having had difficulty with an ear piercing prior to this, I had an RN redo the piercings. The temporary studs she gave to me, unfortunately, had a high profile shape which made it very painful to sleep, and I was searching for a pair of earrings that were small enough that my ears would not have pressure during the night. These work well for that purpose, the backs clasps are a little stiff to push on which is painful for tender ears, but once in place, they are giving me much less difficulty than the original studs. I have been instructed to keep in place for six months. The original items I had were titanium steel and I was instructed to only use titanium steel or gold. These are gold dipped, and I hope that that is not gold color. So far, I am not suffering any irritation, and I have had them in my ears for about five or six days.
