Excited
The media could not be loaded. Latest Update: 5/22/2024A week ago, today my quail hatched. Of 14 eggs, 12 Hatched. I am not sure what happened with the other eggs that didn't hatch but it seems they just stopped developing. Out of the 12 quail that hatch, 2 passed. I now have 10, very hyper and eating machines of baby quail. lol. I have learned so much so far, such as you're going to want to grind up your quail food a bit more than it comes to help them be able to eat it. I purchased a coffee grinder from Walmart and just processed it all down. They love it and eat a lot each day. My quail are even growing in their wing feathers now which is really interesting to watch. A couple of them were hatched with curled toes...don't freak out if you see this. It could simply be the size of the shell, or even the humidity in your incubator. But I didn't have to do anything special, and their toes straightened right out in a couple days. Over all, I am very satisfied with this seller and the eggs I got. I feel I had a very successful hatch rate. I will more than likely purchase again in the future once I gain my skills a bit more with what I have.Update: May 11th 2024Today is day 14. So lock down day. Some of my eggs are wiggling and I have also candled all eggs and all 14 eggs have developed properly so far. No dead eggs and no unfertilized. Today I took out the egg turner that turns the eggs every two hours, and I placed paper towel down on the bottom of the incubator and placed all eggs back in, put the humidity to 65, and now we wait. So far so good. Now let's see how many hatches and how many survive the first 48 hours, which is the most important time for baby quail. Will update more to come.(04/27/2024) My eggs arrived all nicely wrapped. I was very careful when removing all the packing stuff so as not to accidentally break them. I checked all eggs, not a single one was damaged. I have them in an incubator that auto turns them every 2 hours. It also has the ability to keep the humidity in the proper zone and an alarm will sound if it goes to much out of range for temp and humidity. I will update when they hatch but so far so good.

Definitely get quail!
I’ll admit after USPS delivered them in 1° weather, I was worried they wouldn’t even develop. They were ice cold. So I reached out to the seller and received a prompt reply that calmed me down. So they’re great if you have questions or concerns.I ordered 12 and got 14. And due to their cold delivery I really appreciated the extras! I did let them sit out in the room for a full 24hrs before putting them in the incubator. On Monday morning, day 18, I had my first pip. And throughout the day I got a total of 8 that hatched. One didn’t make it which is just nature. So I got a technical 75% hatch rate. They are literally the cutest little things I’ve ever seen! Kind of like little tiny acrobats! One is super tiny and is the sweetest little baby, loves to be held! Super easy hatch!

Poor Lowni died without any support from siblings or cousins.
These eggs failed to hatch. One out of fourteen hatched and that little guy was sad. No cousins after 23 days! Fifty percent of my last batch from another supplier hatched at 17 days. The only thing I got for my money was one chick and a bunch of rotten eggs. The little guy appeared on day 17, just like a little trooper. I was sorry to see him go. I think he died of loneliness. Quail are flocking birds. Poor junior was born without any support group. I think birds need buddy's.

These Coturnix Quail are Gorgeous and Healthy!
The media could not be loaded. I ordered a dozen Coturnix quail eggs with Daily Bread Homestead. This was my first time raising chicks. It has been an amazing experience! The eggs came quickly and they sent us 2 extra for a total of 14 eggs. All the eggs were packaged perfectly. No cracks. We stuck them in the incubator the next day and they began hatching on day 17. We had a total of 10 quail hatch within 3 days of each other. 3 of the eggs appeared to be unfertilized and one stopped developing. The hatch rate was excellent at 83%. They guarantee 50%. All of the chicks are healthy and hardy. They began eating and drinking as soon as we transferred them from the incubator (after they fluffed out) to their cage. They are quiet, curious and beautiful! At 3 weeks now, we are able to sex them. We have 7 hens and 3 roosters. I highly recommend this breeder. The entire experience has been amazing and affordable. The quails are healthy and putting on weight nicely.

Hatch rate 33%
Hatch rate was 33% for me - 4/12 hatched.I expected a little more considering the price per dozen was $23.27 when I purchased them. The true cost per egg went from $1.94/egg to $5.82/egg. The price is high for this delay in shipment and inevitable low hatch rate. The date on the package indicated they were layed 7 days prior to when I received them. This might have also impacted their health as they are a bit weak, but still growing! The packaging was good, none were cracked upon arrival!I've read other reviews and it seems like the business might be expanding without enough resources to ship on time. This shouldn't be our concern as a consumers, they need to get it together and ship earlier.

Great !!!
I ordered 12 they sent 14 . They came packaged beautifully and with directions for some of us first time incubator quail peeps. 5 hatched but that was due to me messing up with incubator. I would definitely purchase again from these guys ❤️

5 out of 14 hatched
I ordered 12 and received 14, 1 had a crack upon arrival. I followed all of the recommended instructions. 5 hatched, but 1 died within 12 hours after hatching. I now have 4 very healthy and lively females.I’m giving 4 stars because I am completely new to incubating quail so the low hatch rate may have been due to human error. Nevertheless I just ordered 24 more to try again!
