Manhattan SX Freesat HD Box, Black

Very easy to set up, worked straight away on previously set up dish which had been used for Sky. WiFi software update worked smoothly. Lots of channels, spoilt for choice.

Great little freesat box! Doesn’t look much on opening box , much smaller than the one it replaces but a little power house . Easy set up - 5 minutes and away we go . Great clear picture too . Highly recommended

I recently moved to a property with a Freesat sattelite dish, so I wanted an inexpensive Freesat box. This box was simplicity itself to connect & set up. The device takes a little while to boot up when you first turn it on, but I have now set it up to be permanently on (no standby), so there is no delay when I turn on my TV.The scan was very quick, and it found 184 channels. The user interface is intuitive & easy to use, and the EPG works well. The remote control is a little small compared to my TV & HD recorder remotes, but it works fine, providing you point it directly at the box.The box has an F-connector input for your LNB lead, an HDMI output for your TV, and a small jack connector for the supplied A/V cable. This cable terminates in 3 phono plugs (L & R audio, and yellow composite video). These can be plugged directly into the inputs of your device, or into the supplied phono-to-SCART converter. I used the SCART converter to plug into my HD/DVD recorder. Unfortunately, while the picture quality from the HDMI output to the TV is excellent, the A/V output is very poor! The picture is blurry and produces poor quality recordings. I'm not sure why this is, but I have knocked a star off for this reason.I can recommend this little Freesat box for straightforward viewing using the HDMI output, but unfortunately the Composite video output image quality is very poor. I don't know if this is a problem with my own box, or a general problem with this product, but it was bad enough for me to knock a star off in my review.

Great product, very easy set-up, logical on-screen directions, clear instruction book (in colour), very good picture and sound.No fancy features and add-ons but it gave me 147 channels in my area (NW England) all for a great price.I would totally recommend.

Easy to set up and use in our caravan. Connected to an old sky dish and away it went finding loads of channels. Very pleased

Our old box packed up so I was looking around for a replacement and chose this after reading some reviews on it.Quick to install, and simple guide on-screen to set up. You input your postcode and it sets your region etc for where you are. Easy.I find it great to have a dedicated button for subtitles and more importantly audio descriptions at the touch of a button when they are being broadcast for that particular programme.It is very simple to add extra channels (once you know how to, probably not for the faint-hearted or average user though because you need to know the technical aspects for each so unless you know what I am on about don't try or you can mess it up!)All-in-all, it is a small box with big features for it's size. Great picture, all 13 HD channels straight out of the box on Freesat using our old SKY dish pointing at Astra at 28.2 degrees so it should work for anyone in a similar situation.EPG is great, 7 days EPG, quick menu for now and next and simple to add reminders whereby the box changes the channel for you with a pop-up that it is going to change to your reminder in 59 secs if you do nothing or you can just select 'OK' to change it immediately.I am really pleased with this and would certainly buy another if I had to.2 year warranty when you register it online (you have to upload proof of purchase as a PDF / scan / image etc).Please note this box does not record but Manhattan make other boxes that do, we did not need that so I did not bother as this suits us fine for our needs.Highly recommended!

Only had it for twenty minutes. it’s up and running smoothly already. This little unit is a very capable product. Tv guide ( EPG) is very responsive and a joy to navigate. Picture quality is superb and sound is good too. Only gripe is that the feet allow the box to easily move, nearly all products are the same so not unique to thie little freesat box, and the trusty blu tac solved that one. Very good value indeed. Buy with confidence.
