They can work with modification included here for 2004 Prius
Early 2004 Prius. I would not give this a low rating except for one thing: The follower part that is this repair item is so much thicker than the original part it replaces (You can tell how thick the original was by looking at the wear area to the side) that the new part and the original rubber bumper behind it, cannot possible fit into the space. I reduced the thickness of the rubber bumpers accordingly, to 0.325”(8.26mm). Then I was able to get them in by using a small vice on one side, then the other. You won’t be able to move the stay by hand. In the car, as a result, they work perfectly. How to narrow the hard rubber OEM piece. I held one between thumb and forefinger and slowly sanded off small amounts on my bed sander, keeping the squareness until I got to the measurement above. How else might you reduce the size? I thought possibly with an Exacto saw, but it would be tricky, you would have to put half in a vise and then turn it over to cut the other side. Maybe with a scalpel razor blade, but again, how would you hold it. I have a fairly coarse, but used belt on my bed sander, and the hardness of the rubber turned out to be perfect for it. I also have a 2008 Prius but its door stays work fine so I do not know if this necessity applies to all Gen 2 Prius’s. I ordered another set for my back doors in the future. Why not try another brand? I think the thickness of the part will make it stronger and the thinning of the bumper behind it does not seem to have any negatives.

Takes some custom fitment for a Prius, though effective for now.
Will see how long lasts.

Compare the Price of a New Door Stop Assembly, before buying this.
This is a cheaper alternative to replacing the entire door stop.I suggest checking the cost of a replacement door stop before buying. These require significantly more time and work than replacing the entire assembly. In my area, the entire door stop assembly was about $20 for the ASIN original part, for 1 door. I used these for the front doors, and purchased the entire assemblies for the rear doors. The rear doors were much easier, and quicker to install. This is for DIYers, who want to save a little money. My 2007 Prius was unable to hold ANY of the doors open, when parked on an incline. The package comes with 4 pieces, that allow you to repair 2 doors. If you have a 4 door car, you may want to purchase 2 packages, to do all the doors.Installing 2 of these per door will make the door stop work as good as new. The Installation is a little time consuming, compared to just replacing the entire assembly. It also requires the use of a drill and a few different drill bits, to break the spot weld, so you can separate the assembly, to install them. The finished product worked perfectly. They include a tube of grease, which is nice. They seem like they will last, but time will tell.
