This is a great strategy game. The object of the game is to capture your opponent's flag by using your military. The strategy is based in where you hide your flag and how you arrange your various pieces.A warning: If you played this when you were a kid, beware! The new version has reversed the values of all of the pieces. The most powerful piece used to be a "1"; now it is a "10". The scouts, which were a "9" are now a "1". The miners, which can defuse bombs are "2" instead of "8".This is important if you are thinking of buying an old version of the game, because you will confuse the living daylights out of your kids, who are used to the new numbering scheme.Bottom line is this is a great game. The downsides are that it is only for two people, and you need to put stickers on the pieces for identification. In the old days, the information was stamped on plastic (or for very old games, wood).There are many key points to remember when playing: Protect your miners. Your opponent will probably surround the flag with bombs. Also, do not go trekking about your opponents area with your "10" without scouts or you could run into a bomb or the Spy. Also, remember where everything is and keep some miners and scouts, and among your strongest pieces near your flag. Now, enjoy!

I bought this game for my son when he was a tween, then had to learn to play it. The object is to capture the opponent's flag, which sounds simple, but setting up the board takes a lot of thinking, as does game play. There are many strategies for doing so. It helps to read up (especially if you plan to challenge an experienced player).It makes no sense to explain all of the rules. In summary, the game has been around forever, with good reason. This was my son's favorite board games growing up. I think it's one of the best strategy board games of all time.

i was specifically looking for this board game if you are a 90's kid this will bring bring back your childhood memories. the game was in really nice condition it had all pieces and its a very fun game to play with friends and family. i was surprised when i saw they still sell this model!

The board game came very speedily and in excellent condition; however, the instructions were in Spanish, just like Buzz Lightyear's predicament in Toy Story 3 -- how timely. A quick search on-line netted us the instructions, and off my husband and daughter were to strategize against one another. The simplicity of this game from a pieces and parts standpoint, plus the fact it provides wonderful one-on-one fellowship between two people face to face, adding in a little chess expertise and much conversation, it is a perfect game for older children to reconnect with their parents and wives and husbands to have a relaxing at-home date for the evening. My husband loved this game as a child and still does today.
