Amazing, especially for the price
I don't know why the gold machine is $100 less than any of the other Gaggia Evo Pro machines, but I actually love the color. There is definitely a learning curve, but one you get a good grind and learn the steam wand, it makes consistently fantastic espresso with minimal effort.Looks amazing, performs amazing, better than many machines costing twice as much, I don't know what else you want.

Best value for money Italian espresso machine
Beautiful and classic Italian espresso machine. So simple to work on and the espresso quality like commercial espresso machine that cost much more.Great deal as home professional espresso machine.

Excellent machine for the price point
We got this machine mostly due to the price point, and the aftermarket and modding community. Seller is excellent and shipping was quick.Pros: great espresso out of the box when matched with a good grinder. You can double the value of this machine by doing some simple, or not so simple upgrades.Cons: the machine out of the box is not very intuitive. There’s no temperature or PID so your guess is as good as it gets. It takes some time to get to know it and find the sweet spot for a perfect extraction.

Frothing Issue
the only problem with the machine is the space for the frothing, hard to use with this spacebetween the wand and the cup holder, but if wand is longer, it may be better.Thanks.

this is awesme
I got a really good deal on this unit, I think because it was the 85th-anniversary edition and has a weird gold color, but the machine is fantastic - I've been pulling tasty shots for months now and it is my new favorite coffee-making device.

Really good espresso machine for the price
I bought the Gaggia Classic Evo Pro when my Breville Barista Pro failed. Paired with a Eureka Mignon grinder, I’m really impressed with the espresso quality. It’s fairly consistent and easy to produce a nice crema with. It’s also nicely sized and fits easily under cabinets. The Gaggia is extremely simple to use and the warmup time is reasonable. I’ve achieved my best results when I let the boiler and portafilter warm for 15-20 minutes, but you can pull a perfectly decent shot in as little as 10 minutes if you really need to. Steaming is a little more difficult on this machine than my old Breville because of the lack of a ball joint on the steam wand, but that’s a fairly minor grievance. The included portafilter is stainless steel and of good quality. It comes with three filter baskets, one of which is pressurized for those who don’t have an espresso grinder. I bought a triple shot precision basket and the portafilter is plenty deep to hold a 22 gram basket. As for other accessories, the included plastic tamper is worthless, so you’ll want to buy one. The machine also doesn’t include a milk steaming pitcher for those planning on making milk drinks right away.Despite the boilergate panic on coffee forums, I have not had any flaking from the boiler coating. I’ve only been using it for about two months though.

My Children Picked This For Me
My cheapo espresso machine died and since my children have complained that it was an awful machine I let them pick out the new one as long as it was less than $400. They picked this and I'm pleasantly surprised at how much better the shot tastes with this new machine and how easy it is to pull a shot and froth milk. This is kind of a no-brainer machine for those, like me, who aren't baristas but would like to make espresso drinks at home. Worth the money.

EXCELLENT for the money
Machines around this price can be terrible, this one is nearly as good as the $2000 level.
