XL Full-Size 10 Inches Magnetic Unique Chess Set Board Game - Folding Board, Travel Chess Board Game Pieces - (Black/Grey)

This this is perfect set to take when getting some beers and food. You don’t have to worry about it getting wet and it’s easy to roll up and save your game. The XL is the right size for me, I think the smaller one would be too small and I like the way these pieces are shaped. Magnets are strong but not too strong to where it’s tough to pick up and move, but hold everything in place when rolled up. It fits in the cup holders in my truck so I pretty much take this everywhere now.

I randomly came across the Ventureboard portable chess set while scrolling through various social media sites. As I have always been a fan of chess and love to play it, finding a portable chess board has always been on my list as most "portable" ones tend to be stiff rigid boards that are hard to pack with loose pieces. So I figured I would take a gamble on this set as you never know with what you see and find on the internet and I am glad that I did! This set is really amazing and lives up to my expectations and needs! It is easy to just roll the entire board up, even mid game, and not have a piece fall off or move once packed up. It literally takes seconds to just wrap the board up onto itself and you are set to go. I am also glad I went with the XL version, as I have big hands and moving these larger pieces is a lot easier to do then the smaller board. Plus the XL version pieces actually look like chess pieces and not general little pieces with a logo on them. Once rolled up, the XL board is about the size of a Yeti water bottle, so about 11 inches tall and 4 inches wide which means it is easy to throw into a backpack or piece of luggage. Overall, I would say this is a must buy for anyone who is a chess fan and needs a quick and easy board to take with them on the go. I showed the XL board off at my job and already have a few people wanting to pick up one for themselves.

Absolutely love the VentureBoard — it's become my go-to travel companion! The build quality is outstanding: solid, durable, and clearly made to last through all kinds of adventures. Whether I’m tossing it in a backpack or pulling it out for a quick game at a campsite or airport, it holds up beautifully. Everything from the pieces to the board itself feels thoughtfully designed and high-end, which is honestly surprising at this price point. Had a blast taking it with to music festival and just cracking it open on while dancing and people playing a game with me in all the chaos and the pieces not moving. Will probably get the small version to for hikes

Love this concept. There def isn't one better out there based on my research. We bought the larger version bc I liked the pieces better. But I think bc the pieces are heavier, they will move about in transit. I'm still happy with the purchase, but you can't really save a game. The pieces also started scratching the board from the jump so that's kind of a bummer too. All and all, it's pretty sweet.

I am so sad. I got the board two days ago and I was so excited. The idea is fantastic! The size is perfect for analysis and traveling. I love how it opens and closes. The pieces are beautiful. The magnets that hold the pieces to the board are real strong. When you close it, it saves your analysis of a position perfectly. Some reviewers mentioned it moves, but I did not find that by shaking it. However, the problem for me is the magnetic locking mechanism. The magnets detatch from their slots. When I got my first board, I didn't notice it for a couple of hours after working with it. But the magnet pair on one end separate and was connected to it's adjoining magnet pair. On closer examining by opening and closing it, the magnet pair on the other end came off. Only the middle magnet pair was left attached. I sent it back, hoping that this was a one off. Unfortunately, the replacement that came today, right when I opened it, again one of the magnet pair were connected to its partner. There for this is a defect that runs through the product line. I'm really sad. Not even for traveling, this is a great space saver. You can quickly open it up and lay it on your desk for analysis and then just quickly roll it up and put it aside. My other boards are more for dinning room tables or game tables. If you have a small wooden board for your office desk, you still have to contend with putting all the piece in their separate box or bag, but with this , it's just so simple. I'm going to give it a few days and think and weigh the pros and cons and think about sending it back. However, if you want this to travel, it won't hold up. The locks will all eventually separate and it won't be able to close. For close to $90, basically a hundred, this is disappointing.This is a real let down.

Showed up quickly and well packaged. This is a good sized board for me and my daughter. We travel often and it is easy to pack and bring along. The pieces are magnetic and will stay in place while rolled up. A positive for me are that the pieces are shaped and not disc's with a picture. This is helpful for my daughter who is 4 and just learning to play chess.

customer service was outstanding. My son loves the board, so he was heartbroken when something broke on it. I asked the company to send me a replacement part so I can fix it in time for our vacation. They shipped out an entirely new board immediately! I am very impressed with how they handled the situation. and like the title says, the board is cool. My son and I love it!

I tried the bigger version as the smaller was just way too small for me. Board arrived broken at 2 of the joints that allow it to roll closed. For something that would travel with you it's a bit on the fragile side.
