Very easy to use, the information booklet has mostly everything you'd need to guide you though. Very similar to a covid test with the addition of a little poop.

Weird to be waxing lyrical about a bowel cancer test but I really think these are an amazing tool to take control of managing your own health.Think its becoming really apparent that if you wait for a health professional to spot a symptom you might be waiting too long for an effective way forward.This little packet of two tests is SO easy to use - it uses a cassette system like the covid tests (shudder) but we all remember how those worked I guess.Not the most enjoyable ten minutes of one's life prodding around to collect samples from three spots but it's not challenging in a cerebral way at least. The instructions are so simple.The test cassette will indicate if it finds "Occult blood" which is basically blood that cannot be seen with the naked eye.Worth remembering that there may be several reasons why occult blood may be present and it doesn't have to be a sinister finding - however its obviously time to get that GP appointment in if you do get a positive reading.These tests are an excellent way to "fill in the gaps" between the NHS stool sample tests, which I think are supposed to be offered every two years. They don't replace them!Might be the best £8.59 ( minus 5% voucher at the mo) you'll ever spend.Five stars.

This is an easy to use test that does what it says as long as you follow the instructions carefully.In use these are exactly like every other type of test cassette. I don’t imagine there’s anyone left on the planet who hasn’t used this type of kit at some point so you have an idea how it works.Instructions should include that you can’t use a specimen that’s landed in the toilet water. I’ll leave it to you to work out how to do this all by yourself.You get some plastic gloves to keep your paws clean & from contaminating the test. Don’t open the vial or the cassette until you’re ready to use it to avoid spoiling the results.Once you’ve collected your specimen from 3 different spots, put the dipper in the specimen bottle & shake it up. You don’t have to wait any time for it to settle, just drop 2 drops on the cassette. I feel it would have been better to provide more than one bottle of liquid in case you mess up but as you get 2 tests, if you want to be sure, do both tests for a single result.You then wait 5-10 min & watch what the colour bars do.Make sure before you start all this that you read the instructions through several times, it pays not to make a mistake & lose your results.I can’t vouch for this being a 100% accurate test but it’s worth a try for the price. There are some exclusions that may affect the result which you should pay attention to.Not a bad price for what it is.

This is easy to use and the instructions were easy to follow. There are two test in the box, so for you and your partner if that’s your idea of romance! Actually, what these do is test for blood in the stool, that’s it. Since this can be an indicator of something wrong then perhaps it is a kind of romance to both do the test.The test does not discriminate between blood from a tumour and blood from haemorrhoids or blood from something else, so it’s a kind of broad-brush test and might encourage you to go to the doctor for further testing or reassure you that no further tests are needed.There are home test kits out there that do test more accurately but samples from these need to be posted to a lab and cost significantly more.I can’t work out if this kit is good value or not, but at the price it certainly can’t hurt.
