Best Ever
It takes some torque to use these, but holy cow, they do a great job. Even if your muscles aren’t working properly and you can’t bend over very well, these clippers will do an awesome job on the thickest, most disgusting toenails. I had bought a pair that looked a bit like a small pair of pliers, and was using those, but it took a lot of work to get those to trim properly, and I had to do it over and over again. My husband, my kids, and I all have really thick toenails, and my husband has toenail fungus as well, and these go through anything and do a great job. I wish I had tried these first. Over the past several years I have bought a lot of clippers. Most of them worked for a time, and then became less effective, but these little rascals are in it for the long haul. They are sturdy and have some heft to them. The next thing you notice is that the cutting edge is very wide, and could probably slice through a Ritz cracker, although why you would want to do that, I don’t know! The point is that these will take on the thickest, toughest most disgusting nails. For fingernails, I need to get a smaller one. These are hard for my small hands to handle, but they are no problem for toes, probably because it’s a totally different angle, and because these are toenail clippers... It’s hard to imagine loving a pair of clippers, but I am quite fond of these. Sturdy, well constructed and they do their job. This is the beginning of a long friendship.

Nails-R-Gone!
I have a couple of toes that developed thick, plank-like nails. I have struggled for years, trying to cut these bad boys! After a recent hip operation, I realized that I could no longer get at them! Inhad to swallow my pride and have my wife help me (ugh!) or go to a podiatrist at $40 a pop. Now I have the Kohm clipper. Happy days! Did the nails effortlessly in less than two minutes. Can hardly wait to grow 'em out again to repeat this fulfiling experiance.

Functionally Great, Aesthetically Maybe Not
These clippers are definitely not bad. Not at all! But they are also not as good as I had hoped. Functionally, they absolutely work fine, so skip this review if that’s all you’re reading it for. They’re even better than fine in that regard. The only thing I don’t like about these is the strangely bulky matte-finish top part with holes in it. It actually looked really cool in the pictures, but in real life it looked a little embarrassingly different from the rest of the components. I wish it was as long as the full body of the clippers, that the clippers were either uniformly shiny or matte, and I wish that they weren’t so heavy. I actually suspected they were on the heavy side, so that shouldn’t have been a surprise, but they felt somehow unnecessarily heavy due to only that top piece. The pictures are honestly not misleading at all, looking back at them, but I thought they looked cool in the pictures and I think they look kind of ridiculous in person. Just one man’s opinion! They work fine.OK, one more thing. They are advertised as having a wide opening, and they definitely do. However, it is hard for me to imagine anyone needing quite so much range of travel in their clippers for any kind of toenail or fingernail situation. I know there are some rowdy toenails out there, and there’s no doubt these can wrangle them, but I do kind of doubt there are any toenails as thick as the wide swing of these allows for. I might be wrong. Let this be a selling point if your toenails are super thick!Anyway, not my style aesthetically (though I thought they looked really cool in the pictures), but they work very well.

Better and Less Expensive Than Any at Your Local Big-Box Store
These are sturdy and better than most you will buy at your average drugstore or large retailer. But, they are not perfect. I bought these after misplacing a pair I have used for 20 years! I kid you not those I had were still sharp and worked as new. These are comparable, but not quite as sturdy or sharp. I noticed the lever swings a bit easy so if you don't have a good grip on it, it might go sideways while clipping your nail. When trying to clip the small corner or your nail and sometimes the smaller nails these clippers seem not as sharp and crush the nail a bit. The old pair I had would snap the nail right off in a clean straight line. I know they just don't make things like they used to... These though will work just fine for me until I track down my old pair.

Wide opening for thick nails!
Love these clippers. I ordered 4 more. I work in a medically supervised nail salon! This instrument autoclaves quite nicely and holds up under constant use on thick toenails!

These are great!
This clipper is solidly constructed! My opinion, careful thought went into the design. The barely noticeable concave shape doesn't easily slip from damp fingers like the standard wedge design. It allows for comfortable, precise control of the clipper from different angles. They're sharp! My nails are too thick and hard I had no problem cutting where cheaper ones have stalled trying or cracked my nails. The lever is heavily textured with etched lines and contoured for grip. The file is a nice addition and has actual emory board quality grit that seems permanent. The tip of the file looks like it won't miss any of that under nail crud. The brushed/polished stainless combo is a nice aesthetic. I claimed this pair for myself, I'll buy another for the house after the holidays.

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!
These clippers are perfect for us seniors with thick toenails.I had previously written a review on another set that were wide enough but not strong enough to cut my nails. The seller quickly came on and recommended that I switch to this set and return the others. I did that and I'm so glad that I did. These clippers open wide and because of the thicker lever, they don't bend and have twice the leverage to cut my stubborn nails.

... much to say about such a simple product that's pretty much perfection
Not much to say about such a simple product that's pretty much perfection. The cutting blades are sharp and line up with precision and the blade separation is the widest possible on such a device. My only caveat, which is not really a caveat, is that it is easy to cut yourself at first while you are learning to use it. Be more conservative than you think you need to be with your initial clips and you should avoid bleeding toes!
