Ignore the negative reviews
If you've ordered these you must know and be familiar with Barazek (Syrian sesame cookies). These exceeded my expectations and surprised me with how delicious they are. Immediately upon opening the box I ate 4 of them and the taste is delicious, fresh, crunchy and super tasty. Some reviews say they're bitter, ignore that, what you're tasting is the toasted nutty taste of sesame. They are mixed with pistachios and they are not overwhelmingly sweet making them even better. The size of the cookies is small like a silver dollar coin but the box is packed. Even though it is a small and beautiful box it is very well packed with cookies and protection, not a single one was broken. I will order a couple more boxes as they will make a great gift.

Small but good
Good cookies but a little small. Should make them a little bigger.

Cookies are TINY!!!
These shortbread cookies are not bad. Not great, but not bad either. I'm giving this product three stars as each cookie is, literally, the size of a US quarter. I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised as they do each have an individual pistachio halve, but this is a very expensive tin in the end.

Shocked by the complete lack of flavor
Flavorless. Very disappointing. There is NO taste of anything. It's like a dry granola, thin wafer, no nuttyness. Complete disappointment.

crummy with broken cookies. Not good to give as a gift or serve to guests.
I will not ask for my money back as I can use the crumbs when cooking. nothing goes to waste. I will not buy this brand again.

It’s the texture as much as the taste that makes these really enjoyable biscuits. They have a melt-in-the-brown quality to them, and they feel quite fragile and lightweight- to the extent where you think “well they can’t be too fattening if they’re that lightweight” and take one or two more than you were planning to take. The picture on the tin is, in my opinion, just a tiny bit misleading, as to me it suggests there are two types of biscuits in here, but it’s only one type. All the biscuits have pistachio mixed in, and a generous amount of sesame seeds on top, and it’s not either/or. The pistachio comes through a little in the flavour, but there’s a rich sugary caramel in the biscuit itself that ends up being the main flavour- I’ve certainly tasted more pistachio-heavy desserts. For the size of the tin, it’s quite generously packed with biscuits when it arrives, but nevertheless for the fourteen quid asking price it is still quite a small tin. They may be good quality biscuits, but other supermarket-available brand’s premium offerings can be had for much less than this two-quid-eighty-per-100g figure. So unless you have a particular nostalgic yearning for barazek specifically, it’s a difficult box to recommend in terms of value. I also found that there was excessive plastic in the packaging as well. I appreciate that the biscuits have stayed very fresh, but even so, there were at least two layers of plastic wrap more than what was necessary in my opinion. However the aluminium tin is quite sweet and we’ll certainly be re-using it once the biscuits are gone, which considering how nice they taste, won’t take very long.
