OMG WOW Inspiring for sure
I am, like many other woman, diagnosed late; 54yo. I've been down a rabbit hole with researching it. My oldest son, 31, is ADD (back when that was the term). Not sure how I missed that I am, as complete texted book in fact, of ADHD. I've always wondered why, why can't I do ...ABC....or XYZ.... Anyway, listening to the books has 1. Helped me to understand the WHY 2. Understand my son much better than just "oh he's got ADHD so he can't focus or he is easily bothered by ABC... and 3. Given me actual real motivation because:Being understood, truly understood, and what doesn't work yet what will (as with most things there isn't a one way or size fits all) work. The step by step instructions or guide given in the book is such a real game changer for me. It truly has helped me and it's very hard to explain without writing a book myself haha. It's been great to reference things to my son that he and I both either do or feel or wish would... I have been able to say to him, "I really get it now" from the perspective that I am ADHD as well. Before knowing I was I just thought I understood and him as well, now I KNOW I understand and get it.I struggled to do this review because I was still listening to the book and actively working with the book in each chapter so it took longer than the 3-5 days that was wanted via SWENETT. And let's face it, they asked that of a person with ADHD... they should have known. LOL

ADHD
I'll start by saying I decided to listen to the audio book. As a person with ADD, I had trouble staying focused and had to do a lot of rewinding. Beyond Distraction had a narrator with an accent (non USA), which occasionally was hard for me to understand. More rewinding. She also spoke too rapidly for me sometimes, especially annoying when she was explaining tech (files, folders, sub folders, etc.) as I am not tech savvy. The book itself had good techniques, some of which I already use. Also, I appreciated the exercises at the end of each chapter. I received a free copy of this book.

ADHD Game-Changer!!
This trilogy by Kai M. Jordan is a game-changer for anyone grappling with adult ADHD. Jordan's straightforward guidance and personalized approach make it easy to grasp the complexities of ADHD and take practical steps toward a more organized life. The first chapter lays a solid foundation with clear goal-setting techniques, while the subsequent chapters delve deeper into understanding the condition and providing effective coping strategies. I particularly appreciated Jordan's insights on decluttering and time management, which offer tangible support for navigating daily challenges. While the trilogy may seem extensive, each book serves a unique purpose, making it a valuable resource for anyone seeking clarity, purpose, and fulfillment in their journey with ADHD. Overall, Beyond Distraction offers a comprehensive toolkit for reclaiming control and fostering growth, making it a must-read for individuals and families touched by ADHD.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Beyond Distraction
While I have not been diagnosed with ADHD, I gravitate towards anything relating to distraction. The first two books did not disappoint (the 3rd book involving parenting teens did not apply to my situation). So many take aways in the first book and the second workbook is a game changer for anyone interested in self care. Real life stories, research and end of chapter takeaways. Another home run by this author!.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Review of Beyond Distraction and its tools for helping Adults and Teens with ADHD
I really liked this book. It was easy to read and well structured. It speaks to the emotional impacts and clinical aspects associated with ADHD, especially the carried toxic shame and guilt that can be a the heart of distraction for many adults.I find the exercises very useful in helping categorize the specific traits and impact to the individual for ADHD that can become the building blocks for their own personal goals and recovery leading to a well structured life full of confidence and self-care, not resentment and guilt.I will recommend this book to loved-ones I care about who struggle with ADHD.Thanks to Kai Jordan for writing this book and for her other books on decluttering our lives.

If you yourself do not have ADHD I still recommend reading it as it will help you to better understand and help your loved ones who do have ADHD. Most of the exercises are concise and easy to follow and only take up 15 minutes of your time.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
