Law & Disorder: Inside the Dark Heart of Murder with the FBI's Leg

Douglas knows his stuff
This book was one of the most well written books on criminal profiling I have yet to read. Douglas manages to mesh the history of justice starting with the Witch Trials of the past, along with the incorporation of the death penalty. Who knew that a book that talks about the Witch Trials of the past would have such an impact on our justice system today? He presents outstanding arguments for and against the death penalty which is a topic of conversation that holds much controversy as today's political climate. I found this book at the library and after reading it, I knew I had to get a copy of my own. There are so many ideas that I gleaned from it that it is a must have to be able to use it as reference material. Outstanding book you won't want to put down.

Maybe Douglas' Best Book
This is my fifth John Douglas book and probably my favourite. The first few chapters were slightly tedious, but set the rest of the book up perfectly. The Jon Benet murder details (as he worked closely on the case) are fascinating, and the West Memphis Three insight is engrossing.John Douglas fans and true crime fans will be completely hooked.

Fascinating
I ordered this book upon my daughter's recommendation. She was correct. Prominent cases which had been in the news ad infinitum and about which I thought I knew everything there was to know, were explained in such a common sense way that it seemed unbelievable that law enforcement and the press took so long (and in some cases, still haven't) to reach the same conclusions. We need more people like John Douglas.
