I am really impressed with this lock! The lock is quite strong and secure, it has a 4-digit combo and also comes with a back up key which can be super handy in case you forget your code. Another thing that I would I like to highlight is that it's easy to grip and leaves no scratches on my scooter. Mounting it to my ride was simple, and now I can carry it around without stuffing it in my bag. Overall, it gives solid protection and has simple sleek design can easily lock/unlock with zero hassle. Definitely recommend!

It works exactly as a lock should, however the scooter mount loosens and begins to raddle over time.. I tried to fix it but it's just a cheap plastic and there's nothing to be done. The shackle is also not as wide as others of comparable or cheaper price, which can be frustrating sometimes.

First thing first, … Hiboy did NOT design the keys to open the lock. I discovered that one can ONLY open the lock using the combination password. The primary purpose of the keys is to help you retrieve a lost password which is originally set at “0000.” The second thing is that to reset your password you need to press the RESET button. Press this button HARD. You need to press this button hard enough until you see two pins protruding about 3/16 of an inch on the surface that is parallel to the surface where one would insert a key (the area between the two U-mount bolts). The enclosed instruction sheet does not thoroughly address the two preceding points. The instruction sheet spends an inordinate amount of time discussing the installation of the storage bracket on a bicycle seat post or frame. The installation of the lock on a bicycle seat or frame appears to be an uncomplicated process that requires less explanation. I was able to change/reset the code, after spending about 12 minutes of time that I have lost to the ages to figure out the lock/unlock protocol. I find that the tumblers on the combination lock to be too difficult to turn so if I ever must make a quick getaway I am cooked. Anyway, this scenario is not in the cards for me – I intend to use this lock on my lawn equipment. I will keep the keys handy but knowing that they only serve an “as needed service.” I will not sweat keeping up with the keys because if I forget my lock combination – it will mean that it is time to hang up my spurs and enjoy my remaining years watching the grass grow. Overall, this is a decent quality lock with a security level of eight. There is no real standard regarding security level, but I would place this lock in the moderate to high security level range.

Awful. Was away from scooter for less than 5 minutes. Lock was immediately cut or hammered off in that timeframe. My guess one good cut or hammer did the trick and it was probably accomplished in less than 20 seconds. This happened on a busy downtown street in broad daylight so clearly it could be destroyed quickly and efficiently without attracting much (if any) attention. I'd look for an alternative if I were you. Thankfully, theives were thoughtful enough to leave the destroyed lock for evidence.

Very solid U-lock from Hiboy — feels sturdy and reliable. I like that it has both a combination code and a backup key, just in case. Easy to set up, and it comes with a mount for the bike. Great value for the price!

I think this is a very reliable lock - it’s big and heavy! )) I bought it as a gift, so I just checked that everything works. It looks well-made and solid. I’m sure it won’t be easy to break. Feels like a great choice
