Ateq VT36-0000 Tpm Sensor Activation Tool With Universal Sensor

I tried 4 different shops in my area to activate and program my schrader ez sensors for my 22 Ram 1500 and none could do it. Schrader said this model will work. I read the reviews saying it didn’t work but I believe them to be operator error. I update the device before starting to try and program. I then attempted to program my sensors and it would work. So, I checked to see if it could read my wife’s sensor and it couldn’t. I found I was doing it wrong per the manufactures video. First they should be programmed prior to installing in the wheel, but if you already have them installed do it how I did and it will work. The device needs to be put against the sidewall of the tire where the sensor is and not on the valve stem at the wheel. After doing this I was able to program all my sensors without any issue. TPMS light is now off and sensors so correct pressure!

It works great and does basically everything a small shop needs. The price is not bad when compared to other similar products, but all these products are overpriced for such a simple tool.

Based on other reviews, I was skeptical about whether the unit would work. My skepticism was misplaced. The unit worked perfectly.I used the unit to activate and program Schrader 33500 EZ Sensors that were then installed into a new set of wheels for my 2021 Tacoma. Specifically, I used the unit to read the IDs from my existing sensors and then used it to write the ID values to the new 33500 sensors. The entire process took maybe 10 minutes.

I liked that I could program different programmable tpms sensors. However I couldn't activate new sensors via OBD2 for my car as that's what I needed to do for car ecu to recognize it. This tool doesn't have OBD2 cable so had to return it and buy other one.

I bought this knowing it couldn't write the IDs to the vehicle after programming the sensor. Depending on what vehicle(s) you're working with, you will quite likely need a scan tool to actually write the IDs that this TPMS tool retrieves or programs.That said, it works great for that purpose and serves my needs very well.
