Great gift for soccer fans.

I love football (soccer) and loved playing Top Trumps as a kid. My children received these from Santa so I was excited to play against them. While the game works as a I remember it (pick a stat and whoever has the best score in that stat wins) I have a few gripes. First, the stats like year of birth are meaningless. Why does a younger lesser player win over an older better player?!? Secondly, the stats on some of the players (especially US players are inflated) with their Top Trumps scores being higher than some objectively better players. Thirdly, the mixture of the male and female players tends to confuse things a little bit. I'm a fan of both men and women's football and am all for Top Trump sets for both but comparing players between genders is difficult and the scores don't make sense to me. There is also some confusion between stats - for instance caps seem to be exclusively international caps but trophies seem to be domestic trophies which makes things confusing. It's a fun game, but I wish it were better executed.

I purchased this for my 8yo son. He is a huge soccer fan and loves learning all about the players! Would definitely recommend!
