Missing white clips ???
There were no instructions for setting it up to use as a camp seat but I found a couple of on line videos . In the videos they mention white clips to be easily seen and undone in emergency use of paddle float ( so you would not undo wrong clips my mistake ) I see that the one I was sent has no white clips .

Great for kayak camping.
Not the most comfortable to lay on but better than the hard ground great as a seat cushion. Floats well enough.

Not as practical as I had hoped.
Returned immediately because it's HUGE! Unless you have an 18' kayak, this very long and wide product will overwhelm your deck.

Good Paddle Float
This works pretty well as a paddle float. Add to that being able to use it as a skid pad for beaching or car loading, as a mat for sitting or laying down, and as a paddle float, it's great. And it is faster to deploy than an inflatable. Sits behind my cockpit on the back deck no problem. The other reviewer must have a very small kayak, and I believe the dimensions are right there in the description, so I don't really understand his complaint. It is about the same size as their other ridged paddle float, and smaller than my inflatable one when it is inflated.

Very cleverly designed paddle float
Hi. This is a very clever paddle float that works quite well. Here are some quick notes about the four functions: As a paddle float: It was a pleasant surprise to discover that there are two paddle blade pockets, one on each end; when you need to use it in a stressful moment, either end will work so there is no fumbling about trying to figure which end to use. Also, the buckles that are used to wrap around and secure your paddle are white, so that you can be sure to unbuckle the correct ones. Good stuff. As crash pad: I just built a stitch-and-glue mahogany boat, so am pretty careful about not scratching up the bottom. The Four Play works really well as a pad on rocky, barnacle-encrusted beaches to keep me from cringing and cursing when beaching. Very good stuff. As a sleeping pad: It works pretty darn well for this, too. I've been using it under my Thermarest pad as an extra bit of comfort. Luxury. As a camp chair: It works almost as well as my dedicated camp seat (not nearly as high in back, but damn good nonetheless), so one less thing to haul around is a bonus. All around, this is a well-made and clever product. I would buy it again in a heartbeat and it is now one of my favorite bits of paddling gear.

This is the best pad ever!
Excellent paddle float (much better than inflatable in an emergency), and terrific for sitting on rocks or logs, or even on the ground. But the most amazing thing is for dragging your loaded (or unloaded) kayak over sand, gravel, rocks, barnacles, even jagged rocks! My brother and I carry 2 pads apiece, and they easily stack on the back deck under a bungie. No more lifting loaded kayaks! 2 people can slide any kayak on these. Having 2 or 3 pads in the group means you don't have to stop every few feet to reposition the pads, just line them all up and go. Very durable, I have over 2 years and many salt water/ barnacle expeditions on mine with no tears, minimal visible wear, and only a little fading. (spray with 303 when new). And they are a great mat for taking a quick nap, or under your tent (under your inflatable pad). Thorns don't deflate them. And much easier than getting a thermarest under me for insulation for sleeping in a hammock. They are NOT a decent chair (too short for your back), but a great sitting pad.

All in One
Have used it for three years now. Who wants to blow up anything in rough seas. Not me! For kayak camping this is fabulous. Not only is it a safety device, you can sleep on or sit in it as well. Ultralight camping when kayaking is the way to go. Have a 16 foot Epic that I use. Fits fine!
